100% why - same with Leslie Jones & Vanessa Bayer Trumps. Neither were funny, they were just trolling him

They don't use him for what he's best at. I like him but agree he doesn't bring much to the show, as it stands.

kyle mooney is funny, but they literally have no idea how to use him. man, he has no idea what camera to look in during sketches. its really obvious.

i thought the two new guys were great on update, and mofat as guy buying a boat was outstanding.

i thought last night was pretty good actually.

SNL was never a great show. It's always been a few good skits that then get done to death. Most of the show falls flat, always has. Weekend Update is consistently the funniest part of the show because it is basically standup with pics. Variety/skit shows always skew stupid. I've never seen an SNL where every skit was good, let alone great, for every generation of stars it produces. And the best shows are determined by the talent of the host, not the cast.

I can't figure out if that's on purpose or not. He's a weird guy with a weird comedic delivery. At times he has an "Andy Kaufman"-ish presence about him

His "I just don't get women" was awkward, made me uncomfortable to watch, and was wholly hilarious

It's definitely not your everyday "haha" funny; but I definitely think it was intended to make the audience uncomfortable.

Maybe it's just me, but I like the weird/not "mainstream" comedy.

This 100%. And the thing is, everyone at the show knows it. I know a handful of people there now and they are all very much aware that the show exists for 'Best of' purposes.

If you ask the modern naysayers what the best early 2000s or mid 90s sketches, the will name the same like 50 sketches. There's not really some mass amount of deep cuts that are hilarious and flew under the radar. Skits either hit or miss, are remembered or are forgotten. It's been that way since the 70s.

On the topic of Mooney - "Ball Champions" was for a long time my favorite thing on the internet. May still be.

He's under/inappropriately used on the show.

So, like, corporate synergy sketches? In-show ads? OK. I don't watch live anyway so do whatever SNL.

Louis C.K. and The Chainsmokers should be decent. I feel like they've downplayed Vanessa Beyer in this show.
