More Boyd wouldn't be a bad thing. That being said, I love BW and wouldn't mind having another album like it.

Yeah, I would really like to hear some longer jams on the next album. Or at least some longer jams on the BW songs this summer.

Probably my biggest disappointment about the album. I had such high hopes for that song...

"the pace song" is quite possibly more over-rated than MacHead...we hear a few seconds of a repetitive riff that Roi likes and it becomes the Grail

A great album. If they do that, it can have no jams or be all jams, have all roadtested songs or no roadtested songs, all acoustic or all electric, lots of lyrics or very little lyrics. I just want to see them build on the comeback they had with Big Whiskey.

No more Southern Rock songs... they finally made a good one (AP), and they don't need to try again...

More Middle Eastern/ Gypsy music, akin to Minarets and Squirm.

Dave's guitar being the drive of the songs.

    Jeff/Rashawn heavy musical input.

    More instrumentation -- longer songs.

The only one for me is the return of Lillywhite as producer. Otherwise I don't really care.

You'll get more than one if Lillywhite produces.

Well, assuming they don't fire him before they finish.

Lillywhite doesn't always do jams in the songs he produces. I guess you don't listen to a lot of what Lillywhite produces.

If by "jam" we mean extended solo section, and I believe that's what was meant, these are featured on every single album Lillywhite has produced with DMB.

UTTAD: WWYS (Roi + Popper), Typical (Roi on flute), Nancies (Roi and Boyd outro), LLD (Roi solo), Warehouse (Roi solo)
Crash: #41 (Boyd + Roi jam), Say Goodbye (Carter + Roi intro), LIOG (Tim jam), Proudest Monkey (crazy shit from Roi)
BTCS: Rapunzel (Roi outro), Crush (Boyd, Roi, Tim outro), Dreaming Tree (Roi outro), Spoon (Boyd, Roi, Tim outro)
LWS: Big Eyed Fish (Roi + Boyd Outro), Bartender (insane Roi outro) - and album was not even finished yet

I guess hmich hasn't listened to a lot of DMB studio albums.

You define "moving forward" as "making albums much less good than you could be making?"

If so, I'd rather they move backwards.

Just because it happened in the past doesn't mean it's going to happen now. Especially since the band has chosen to go down a different road.

You do realize it's 2010, right?

If Lillywhite produces a DMB album in the future, will you be willing to take the side of $1,000 that there will be zero jams on the album?

Because I would be more than willing to have a lawyer draw up a contract and sign that I would bet $1,000 that there will be at least one in less than five seconds, and I promise I will make good on it if I lose.

    Up for it?

And hey, if Lillywhite never produces for them again, no harm no foul.

I believe Dave made the comment that if they had stayed with Lillywhite then DMB would have been over long ago. I am sooo tired of people saying that steve lillywhite is responsible for DMB's early success
DAVE MATTHEWS WROTE THOSE SONGS---DAVE MATTHEWS ALSO WROTE EVERYDAY AND STANDUP--- DAVE MATTHEWS WROTE BWGGK

Had lillywhite produced BWGGK..... Guess what? here comes the big surprise........ You would still have all these songs.. because DMB writes the songs not Steve Lillywhite

He hasn't responded yet. I just sent it yesterday and it looks like he hasn't been on in a few days. It looks like he usually responds to people though, so we'll see. I think he should do it. Maybe I'll plug my own journalism/english/writing/editing credentials and tell him that I'll edit his book for him
