Re: ***Antsmarching.org’s Top Films of 2014***
I'm not going to create a new thread, and I'll most likely just end up posting the results in the movie thread so this thread can float into oblivion, but here's the voting information for our Top 50 Films of the Decade (2010-2014):
1) Final submissions are due by the end of the day on Friday, March 27, 2015. I hope to announce results that same weekend. This gives you over a month to watch anything you've been putting off for the last 5 years.
2) Votes should be PMed to me here on Ants. Please remember to number your lists in order to simplify things.
3) Lists are capped at 50, with a minimum of 10 entries necessary to be scored. I encourage everyone to submit 50 films since really that's what this is all about. Again, you have over a month to piece together a comprehensive list so if you're even remotely interested in participating this should pose no problems to you. That said, I can appreciate busy schedules so a Top 10 list will be scored. I will just publicly shame you every chance I get if you only submit 10.
4) Eligibility mostly speaks for itself. Just looking back at the release calendars for the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010 though, I'll clarify a few things. Most notably, Crazy Heart, The White Ribbon, A Single Man, and The Lovely Bones (as if you would ever vote for it) ARE NOT ELIGIBLE considering their limited releases in 2009.
The Secret in Their Eyes, Incendies, A Prophet, and Fish Tank ARE ELIGIBLE. That should cover most of the questionable releases, but if you have any other eligibility concerns please feel free to ask.
Documentary features are eligible, as are HBO Original Films. Miniseries and short films are not. This includes ESPN 30 for 30 shorts, which may in some cases be contradictory given their feature length.
