Re: The Gaslight Anthem

Still not sure about release date, there have been a bunch of different reported ones. It'll leak early for sure though.

Also, Too Much Blood is a badass song title

Seriously, pretty good for a B-Side track. I love the lyrics too, I can kind of relate to it living in Boston, but wishing I was back in New Jersey every day. With O'Brien Producing it, I imagine it sounding even better on the album.

Nope, I live in Navesink (ala The Navesink Banks- amazing tune).

Brian recently got a place in Rumson. I've run into him twice since January.

Brian Ballin' out in Rumson.... I had no idea. This makes me curious about how much money this band actually makes; I didn't nearly think enough to be living in Rumson.

For some reason, I still get the image of struggling musicians from them. I mean my school Northeastern in december had Brian come to our school to play an acoustic show for maybe 50 people, which seems like a gig that only somebody who needs to make a quick extra buck would take. They're also still opening for bands right now like soundgarden in europe. He did make a joking comment during the acoustic show that he didn't want to play a springsteen song because "He already made him enough money". I guess partially the popularity he got from springsteen bought him a house in Rumson.. haha. Good for him though, hopefully I make enough money to join them one day.

Well, there are spots in Rumson you can probably get a nice place for less than half mil. They're definitely doing well for themselves though.

Awesome! Very nice area. If you run into him, tell him Craig from Madame Gowy's class says hello--we went to school together

Just heard it. Loved it. It's vintage Gaslight Anthem. Upbeat, hard, and catchy. Great single.

It was normal high school life I think. Cool guy. Everyone trying to find their way. So happy for the success of the band.

really like it after about 5 listens. perfect choice as the lead single, this will draw in a lot of people who haven't heard them before.

fallon's vocals really jump out at me on this one. the guy just keeps getting better and better. and here, he sounds like he's come into his own rather than trying to sound like springsteen like he did on am. slang.

it's almost like he's mixed the polished, beautiful voice he's attained over the years with the grit and rawness of the Sink or Swim period. Wow.

Yeah I am really liking the new single. It's in the vein of "The '59 Sound", with the anthemic chorus, and I enjoy how it feels like it is actually Brian singing as himself, and not as a fictionalized Americana character.

    Very excited for the album

Awesome new tune. My friend who works for esquire described it as "if pearl jam was on the warped tour.". He really nailed it with that.

Good to hear a new riff Brian was talking about in an interview a few weeks ago. Said it was the first time he'd ever learned to write them. That's definitely what gave it a PJ sound to me.
