Me. Although, I like Lord of the Rings a lot.

When I started GoT, I was thinking okay this is kinda cool. Then when there started being some hints of it being mystical/magical, I was a little on the fence. But it ended up not bothering me; it's just so well-done and interesting that it's not like some silly fantasy crap and the dragony-type stuff is secondary to the characters and drama. At least that's how I view it.

It's a fantastic show. Very high production. Worth the watch. At least watch S1 and give it a go. Can't hurt.

The success of this show, in my opinion, was/is its ability to dial back on the silly fantasy stuff. Aside from the very beginning and very end, the first season was largely realistic and just felt like a historical period piece. They craftily manage to hook people with only minor tolerances to the genre in before dialing it up.

Watch the show. It's worth it. Highest quality thing on tv and better than most movies.

I share your sentiments. I don’t really get into lord of the rings or any sort of medieval type things or really any fantasy type shows. And this is by far my favorite show on tv. The language on the show is like it takes place in 2015. Its not like they’re speaking in olde English or anything like that.

I'm still not buying it. It's not like they'd say if he was coming back. Maybe I'm just a book reader trying to hold out hope but I still really think he's coming back.

The HBO exec says "dead is dead", but we've already seen a resurrection on the show before with Beric Dondarian. Additionally, what's the point of Mel returning to the wall then? Until next April comes and we see Jon Snow's funeral or whatever I'm not going to buy this.

If the show does kill him off for good I hope that George has it happen in the books. The stories are so separate at this point that I'd almost prefer it that way.

Not sure if I would truly be either ok or upset with him actually being killed off for good. I feel like it doesn't make much sense and leaves some pretty huge questions unanswered, but then again this is George RR Martin/GoT we're talking about.

What are the chances Jon is dead but turns into a white walker? It seemed like they put emphasis on that one white walker captain during the raid was very impressed with him. Seems if he'd been betrayed by the night's watch he could go to them. Maybe that's too out there of an idea.

If he is dead for good the NW will most likely burn his body because they know about the walkers and what they can do.
