haha... I asked that exact question awhile back in either the HBP thread or the general Potter one. Sort of the same kind of principle as in book 1, if Quirrell had already gown all the way down to the mirror first, how come all of the obstacles were like they hadn't been touched yet (particularly the giant chess board).
But back to the basin, in the movie when Harry's trying to get Dumbledore some water and he magics it into the basin but that can't scoop it up, I wondered why Harry didn't simply magic it straight into the shell, or better yet directly into Dumbledore's mouth. Surely that would've worked.

Yea, I mean I remember that Snape accuses Harry of stealing the ingredients (in fact I love that little moment in the end when it's revealed who'd been stealing them, Dumbledore says it and Snape looks over to Harry and Harry gives him this smirk, like "see??"
) but yea since he obviously would've needed HUGE amounts of the potion, I was just wondering if the popular idea among the fans was that he didn't bother to keep taking it overnight when he would sleep, he would look like Bartie because he wasn't in the company of anyone else.
