Hunger's a great song. I like it... but it's not better than Last Stop, sorry.

Ya know, I did read the whole thread before posting too, which is funny.

It just never occured to me that someone could actually believe that Hunger was > Last Stop

i think that the last stop has had a percent less energy than in the past. i believe that hunger for the great light is a good song, and every ones opinion should be respected, but i still think that the last stop is really cool.

    flecky, you let me down...

hunger is the biggest atrocity of a song dmb has ever made imo.

last stop doesn't deserve ALL of the hype it gets, but it is certainly a great song.

i still dig jimi, but very often i prefer listening to the listener supported version, bc i love the little breakdown dave does with boyd after boyds main solo, which they dont really do anymore, and it makes me sad

IMO, no way is Hunger even REMOTELY close to The Last Stop. The Last Stop is firmly in my top 8 DMB songs. Hunger for me is easily one of their worst.

With the exception of Last Stop being one of the most perfectly composed songs that the band has written, and HFTGL being one of the most simple repetative "OMGZ THE ENIRGEE!!!!1" songs, I can see this opinion making sense.

From the first time I heard hunger live (Bonnaroo 05) until the last (Raleigh 6-21) time seeing it they have put it together much better. The last 10 seconds of the song has an energy almost like Halloween has through the song (I said ALMOST). but the rest of the song is pretty uneventful and repetitive. Sorry hunger still not what I wanna see every f-ing show.

Hunger is one of the better songs on Stand Up. Its actually COMPLETE. There are only a few songs on that album that I consider fully complete, full chorus's, etc..American Baby, Everybody Wake Up, Hello Again, & Hunger being those songs. I dont think its a great, or even really good song..but it's one of the better ones on SU by default.

See his comments in the Radiohead thread and you will know you don't.

As far as this thread goes...Last Stop has been the highlight of many people's shows. No one has yet to come back from a show and say 'Hunger was the showstopper tonight'. It is one of the better songs from Stand Up, but not on the same planet as Last Stop.
