yeah, Lunardi always gets that stuff wrong. he spends more time getting the field right than the matchups.

that would be brutal though. if everything went to seed, they would have to beat Duke & Kentucky for the second time this season.

I can't get over how awful Marques Bolden is. On top of being an incredibly slow, archaic big man, he's just lazy. Or maybe he really is that slow, I don't know. But I can't remember the last time I've seen someone move at the snail's pace he does after hedging.

Someone was ranting to me about how poorly the coaching staff has been with rotations this year, but they just don't have many options. Bolden and Giles have been absolutely terrible when they're on the court and that's been more evident since Jefferson hasn't been 100% at all this season. Disappointing year, for sure, but they've basically just added Tatum and Jackson to a team that was very mediocre last season since Giles and Bolden have been corpses.

I remember being pretty dissapointed when Bolden chose Duke over UK but we may have dodged a bullet

He's like a worse version of Daniel Orton, if that's possible.

I mean, I'd still argue that they do if Allen and Jefferson can get healthy. I still also think part of the issue with Giles is that he's still trying to get back into the groove after not playing basketball for over a year. I think he's playing scared too and worrying about another injury. He may not ever get back to where he was and, if he does, it probably won't be at Duke. He could still be effective for the team, though.

I agree. We never seem to win in Ames and Self has problems in GIA. That said, we've made a hell of a run after that 0-6 start.

This late in the season teams are, for the most part, who they we think they are. Duke has the ceiling to beat any team in the country on any given night, but I struggle to see them putting six games together in the tournament.

you put that much better than my "Duke just isn't very good" response that I've been repeating for a couple of months now.

I never said they weren't playing well. I said they weren't very good. Poorly worded, but I meant what I said. Sometimes you have a lot of talent, but it just doesn't work together on the floor like you thought it would. That's Duke this year. It's been Kentucky a couple of times. It happens. That said, they'll probably get on a hot shooting streak and have the bracket collapse around them like it did a few years ago and win another title.

Allen and Jefferson are both questionable tomorrow.

At this point they might as well just sit tomorrow and Saturday.

UCLA has the road win at Kentucky to hang their hat on. Arizona & Oregon both have very mediocre non-con resumes.

I think Kentucky has a really outside shot of a 1 seed. Would have to involve beating Florida again (and probably South Carolina), winning out, and some other teams to falter

that's the only thing I see separating the three of them. I don't think any of them deserve a #1 seed. I think it's Kansas, Nova, UNC & Gonzaga right now. I can see a scenario where UCLA, Oregon, Arizona or Louisville take it from Gonzaga though. I think the top three are safe barring something crazy (UNC loses to Duke, then loses their first game of the ACC touney). Think Kansas and Nova are locks.

I don't disagree. If they win out they could potentially have at least 3 more top 50 RPI wins (RPI likes Vandy), one of which could be Florida which I believe is top 5 in the RPI. That would mean they finish 29-5.

I don't really care either way to be honest but it's not completely out of the realm of possibilities. I'm guessing they're a 2 and get put in either UNC or KU's bracket.
