I'm going with none. And that reminds me, I need to work on my setlists for the game.

To me, it's kinda sad that there's even a chance for repeats. It's not like the crowd is going to be different for any of the days. It's literally going to be the exact same people each day - there's nowhere for anyone to go anywhere. It's not like a 3-night stand at the Beacon where each night a few different people are only coming to the one show.

    1-5

The newest batch of songs probably get repeated. Maybe a classic like WWYS too. It easily could and should be zero though, they've got enough new ones to sprinkle in each night.

100% this. Repeats would be ridiculous for an event like this.

See, I'm actually thinking closer to 10-15. If you think about it, a 3 night stand would be around 80-90 songs. The whole band didn't even play 90 different songs all year last year. I used to think they would and should get only 0-5 repeats, but 80-90 different songs would be very surprising. They would have to bring out quite a few rare songs.

Not ragging on them at all, I'm just really looking forward to watching these setlists, as I almost went but just wasn't in the cards. Should be interesting and will be telling of the US tour to come!

I would love it if they didn't get any repeats, but I just don't know if I see that happening. Crossing my fingers though! Would be a great sign for all the other shows!

The newbies might see a couple plays, possibly a cover or a few Some Devil songs may pop up more than once. Also, if there's something he dusted off and enjoys that might show up twice.

    Re: Mexico: How many Repeats?

I realize it's D&T and not full band DMB but, using the Gorge as a frame of reference, there haven't been any repeats at the Gorge since 2012. And that is with the 2016 88 song catalogue. In 2012 it was three nights of Mercy. There was also a full LIOG and a LIOG reprise but I didn't count that. Going further back, there haven't been multiple song repeats since 2009, with 2 each of FTWII, Spaceman and Squirm and 3 each of Caveman, Road, Seven, SMLAM, and Y&M. And most of that you would attribute to the BW drop.

So between 2010 and 2016, there was only one song repeated at a Gorge 3 night stand - Mercy in 2012. (Again, not counting a LIOG/LIOG reprise as a repeat and not counting the Sledgehammer tease/Sledgehammer from 2014).

I know it's widely believed that Dave doesn't really take fans into consideration when creating setlists but it does seem that there has been some effort to treat all three nights at the Gorge as a destination and not have repeats. Or maybe it's just a coincidence. In any case, based on the above, I voted none.

It really should be zero. It's the same crowd all 3 nights.

Yeah 1-5, Dave knows he'll be seeing the same people for each night. I don't see him doing more than 3 or 4 repeats

Oh, I'm not saying anyone is wrong for thinking that by any means. I truly hope it is the case!

I also look at the Gorge shows at having less songs total with the song times being a lot longer. I am sincerely hoping that they don't get any repeats. Would absolutely LOVE to see that! I just think it would take a lot of work is all.

Hope it's this or no repeats at all! I was just putting some thoughts out there.

Oh, yeah, I wasn't calling you out. I just wanted to point out that, with only 88 songs they didn't repeat any at Gorge 2016. However, you're definitely right about song length. I guess we'll find out in a few days.

If there are repeats I would definitely expect Samurai Cop to be one of them.

See you in the Setlist thread on Thursday. Hoping Periscope works on the Mexico beaches. Unless they announce some closer shows, I'll be setlist stalking for the entire D&T tour. Good luck if you are playing the game!

Thank you! I did last year for the first time, ended in the top 50 and won a couple shows. So may try my luck again this year. Good luck to you as well!

And yes, really hoping for Periscope feeds this weekend! And I'll be hitting up the Chicago shows, but that'll be it for me!

Looking at all Dave & Tim shows from the last 3 years, they've only played about 60 unique songs not including Tim Solo songs. So say 2 of those a night, we're up to 66. I expect shows will be longer than 22 songs each night so Dave is going to have to dig deeper and dust off some songs if they are going to avoid repeats. I just don't really trust Dave to do that.

That's why I was guessing more repeats as well.

However, now that I think about it, I remember seeing a time posted saying they were going on at 8:30 pm. If that were the case, they might only get 22 songs if they want to be done around 11, depending on the amount of Davespeak.

Like I was saying, I'm really just intrigued to see how it's gonna go!

I think this is going to be a really good test of this widely held belief. If Dave digs deep and shows that he is willing to practice/relearn songs, what does that then say about the state of the band and where the responsibility lies for the repetitive setlists?

I agree. A lot of people blame Dave, but I don't necessarily know that's the case. Look how long they waited to play Two Step this year (rumored bc of Carter's arthritis).

And The Stone and Snow Outside, Dave and Tim played them at CMAC after not playing it for the whole tour before it. And then there's Loving Wings, which he played solo at a show AFTER the full band tour.

At the end of the day, it would be awesome to be a fly on the wall when they do setlists to see how things actually go.

Anything more than 1-5 would be a disappointment and I'd be mad if I spent all that money to see the same songs played more than once. They know that this is a package deal, and everyone there is going to every show.

Edit: I think there are more songs that only get played D&T and not full band then there is songs that are played full band but not D&T. That should help lessen the repeats. Think ODH, Oh, Save Me...etc

What was the last 3 night D&T run? Vegas? N3 that year was almost all repeats.

Of course, that was set to be a release, so I guess the first two nights were practice for that.

I'm betting 6-10, closer to the 6 side.

Should be zero because, as has been mentioned, there's going to be little to no turnover night to night. It'll be the same people every night.

    Re: Mexico: How many Repeats?

There is no way there will be zero repeats but I don't think there will be a lot, 1-5. I am far more interested in seeing if there is going to be another unexpected song to pop up like Rapunzel did in Texas than worrying about repeats.

I mean they know it's a special trip that people had to book all together. Everyone there is going to all the shows. I don't think they will have any repeats. If there is it will be 1-3 of the new songs

1-3 with a decent amount of covers.
