I don't think there's a really, really good opener from Big Whiskey, because I want a good, fast jam to start the show, like a PNP > Rapunzel or The Stone. Or Pig, I really liked Pig opening. But I like opening songs to have a little prelude (like for Bartender or Heartbeat for PNP) and a solid jam that's got a good speed to it. I just can't get behind a 3 minute opener like Shake Me or Why I Am, although at least Why I Am is a kinda-sorta band anthem.
Squirm is too slow and so is Lying in the Hands of God. I think both songs would be much better off midset, along with Seven. I wouldn't like Seven opening either and in that video Dave started singing before the curtain got pulled up (I think PNP > Rapunzel is the best opener for the curtain pull.) But of all the Big Whiskey songs, I think the best choice is Funny the Way It Is. It has a little prelude, it's a decent, fast jam, and it's a fun song.
EDIT: I wouldn't want Alligator Pie to open a show, but maybe Spaceman with that drum solo open that they were doing in winter 2010 Europe tour. As long as it isn't followed by Corn Bread. I wouldn't want Time Bomb either - the song sucks. And I don't think Dive In, Baby Blue or You & Me will ever open a full band show.

I'd be bored, too. The only reason it was cool to see in Hershey - it was my first time seeing it (and random stat wise, it was the first time Squirm opened a show).
