Here's the gist:

A Ukrainian lawmaker released new financial documents Tuesday allegedly showing that a former campaign chairman for President Trump laundered payments from the party of a disgraced ex-leader of Ukraine using offshore accounts in Belize and Kyrgyzstan.

Manafort, who worked for Yanukovych’s Party of Regions for nearly a decade, resigned from Trump’s campaign in August after his name surfaced in connection with secret payments totaling $12.7 million by Yanukovych’s party.

...released a copy of an invoice on letterhead from Manafort’s consulting company, based in Alexandria, Va., dated Oct. 14, 2009, to a Belize-based company for $750,000 for the sale of 501 computers.

On the same day, Manafort’s name is listed next to a $750,000 entry in the “black ledger,” which was considered a party slush fund

The undisclosed payments that he received from Ukraine's pro-Russia leader was discovered last summer and is what forced him out of Trump's campaign. These weren't (as far as I'm aware) illegal; they just looked horrible for the Trump camp. But this news, if accurate, is 100% illegal.

They're somewhat separate issues, but the link is what makes this look super bad.

Shotty talked about Obama and not hitting 3% growth. Here's a good article on why trump probably won't hit 3% either. Short version, it's hard if your population isn't growing fast (like it was in the 80s) and you don't have a huge influx of immigrants and live in an advanced society.

It's also hard to grow with sequestration, prolonged tax cuts, and lowest levels of non-discretionary spending in 15 years. Obama inherited the worst economy any POTUS had been handed since FDR, and he righted the ship without relying on the war machine to boost growth.

GDP is equal to Consumer Spending + Investment + Government Spending + Net Exports.

So when the bold is drastically reduced through spending cuts via sequestration, and revenues are continually too low due to unfunded tax cuts that you can't end because it would kill recovery, you simply aren't going to have large growth (plus the plethora of other economic headwinds from Europe, the burden from the aging of baby boomers, etc).

And because Trump is advocating such large cuts (not necessarily in this first budget, but suggesting it down the road) that don't seem to be targeted at boosting middle class spending - plus his talk on trade likely to hurt NX - his only path for growth is to have a huge influx in Investment; likely as a result of large corporate handouts. And that isn't sustainable.

I'm a little split, to be honest. I guess the bar can refuse service to anyone they want but it is a little hypocritical. If a bunch of MAGAs came to my club I wouldn't kick them out, maybe I'd just bump their drink costs up a little Republicans are all millionaires right? They can afford it.

Eh, Roe v Wade was a very dumb decision, but it isn't going anywhere. The way to fight abortion is at the state level, just like what's been going on. Getting rid of Roe v Wade still wouldn't stop the uber blue states from doing what they do.
