Ok. Got it. Browns have literally nothing going for them.

honestly why did I even engage, that's on me. the browns are 4-28 over last two years with no wins against playoff teams.

but yeah, plug in a quarterback and the offense is great

Wasn't the standard if these guys could literally start for any other team in the NFL? I am thinking they could find 1 or 2.

Joe Haden, but only on a good day. Got it.

I don't think I'm grasping for straws saying that the players I've mentioned are solid. I mean, I find it ridiculous to suggest otherwise but I am do not see as clearly as those who are viewing the Browns through black and yellow colored lenses.

even still, the eye test leaves a lot to be desired with him. he's just another guy IMO

he doesn't really do anything above average

Crowell, Ryan Mathews, Jeremy Hill, Rashad Jennings, Mark Ingram, Chris Ivory...they are all basically the same, completely interchangeable

Something I just read that I would have never thought of - should Alabama have purposely committed PI on Clemson's last TD?

There are 6 seconds left. Enough time in theory for Clemson to run a play and then also kick a field goal if that play is unsuccessful. If you just tackle all of their receivers, you probably drain all the time off the clock. Clemson gets one untimed down, but in that case they have to choose between a final do-or-die play, or else settling for the field goal, instead of both being options.

Of course, that 6 second down could have gone horribly wrong for Clemson as well and not preserved enough time for a field goal try at all.

    oh yea absolutely

it's the same reason why the DPI on the previous play was a good penalty to take. Wrap up the WR or lose the game? easy decision there

Rams and Titans as well off the top.

I heard that too today.. never occurred to me. Very interesting and most likely an effective strategy in that scenario.

Definitely. But that move hasn't hit the mainstream until this year in the NFL so not probably on someone's mind. Would be surprised if there isn't some sort of rule around that at some point.

Clemson this year beat the four most recent national title programs (Bama, Ohio State, Florida State, Auburn).

Obviously, for FSU and Auburn (and seemingly Ohio State after that semifinal game) those programs aren't at the level they were when they won the title, but it's still a cool talking point to throw around.

Saw a stat that the last 9 National Champions have a total of 6 losses between them (makes sense, some undefeated, some with 1 loss), and every single loss was at home.

Rhett Lashlee out at Auburn. Really hope Gus makes a good hire.

I've got a name in mind that I think would do great things, but I'm biased. We shall see what route Gus wants to take. Whoever it is, I hope they get the reigns of the offense.
