Hopefully all of them. You have no idea how demoralizing it is to have a guaranteed home loss on your teams upcoming football schedule. That is what it is like to have Alabama come to your town. It is better when you play Alabama away because it opens up a home field advantage against an inferior team.

This website took a look at how many 5 star QBs and RBs lived up to the hype and how many were busts since 2004 (they include 5* players from any of the services):

    Rhett Bomar, OU
    Xavier Lee, FSU
    Bobby Reid, Oklahoma State
    John Brantley, Florida
    Russell Shepard, LSU
    Garrett Gilbert, Texas
    Dayne Crist, Notre Dame
    Ryan Perrilloux, LSU
    Mitch Mustain, Arkansas

All of these were huge busts. I dig that link.

Even though there were more 5 star RBs in number, looking at the QB list just makes QB ratings look like a crapshoot seeing how many were busts and how many good QBs were not highly rated coming out of HS.

I didn't look, but I wonder which school appears most on those lists. OU's got 3 5* busts on there.

Off the top of my head I would guess LSU. I can't believe Gilbert was a 5 star.

Gilbert was horrible, but he almost won the MNC game too. Weird career.

Russell Shepard could have ran the Auburn offense better than Nick Marshall this year.

He played WR for LSU. Was never going to play QB for a school like LSU or Bama. And everyone (including the kid) knew that going in.

Could get even better with Rashaan Evans.

I saw an article about Alabama will be about 8 over the scholarship limit after NSD limit this year. Will have to have some grey shirts or more transfers.

I think Evans will go to AU. Too hard to get a player from Auburn HS to go to Bama. I know it happened last year, but Foster wasn't "from" Auburn. Also, transfers wouldn't help Bama bring in more for this class. You can only bring in the limit of 25 no matter what unless you have room left from the previous recruiting cycle (back-counting).

Yeah but you can only have 85 scholarship players.

About 5% of overall recruits, and maybe 20% of recruits at the biggest schools will earn money playing football professionally. In any event, many schools are now offering 4 year scholarships, instead of the typical 1.

Auburn doesn't cut players unless they break rules. They don't force transfers either.

No one would ever admit they do it. It's always big news at Alabama though when a player that wasn't playing much transfers to another school. I guess it's not possible that a kid would ever realize he's just not gonna play there and decide to take the initiative to go somewhere he can see the field.

Yeah but even after the transfers they are 8 oversigned. Now normally most classes have 2-3 guys that don't qualify academically. They'll still be 5 too many. Gotta force transfers or say some additional 3 stars "don't qualify"

Those schools are stupid and will be at a competitive disadvantage.

Florida, Auburn and Ohio State are some prominent schools who have started doing this.

10 of the schools in the SEC, including Gocubs USCjr, support 4 year scholarships
