One of the most annoying things about this fanbase is how people HAVE to comment on someone's level of fandom, or criticize how other fans at concerts perceive themselves. I'm guilty of it in the past, too, but man is it fucking dumb to read. Commenting on something dumb someone says is one thing, but to bring in their level of fandom or how you perceive their level of fandom based on their words and actions, so dumb. With how often people rip the family, people here can be just as bad, if not worse, about being clueless to anything in life outside of this band.

If someone is going out of their way to flex (or 'wave their dick around' as ExistenceNow poetically put) and they are just so blatantly wrong/ignorant about the band, then they deserve to be called out for their bullshit. Thus, this thread exists and continues to be a place where these "super fanz" can be laughed at for their shenanigans.

Theres all different levels of fandom. It doesnt matter what someone is, but the bragging about it is so confusing to me. I dont go to other concerts of bands I know less about, and try to make all these proclamations about them or if this is a "legendary run of songs that never happens".

I dont, and would assume 99% of people here dont even do it at DMB shows.

My "home" venue can be a 4 hour drive. To catch 2 shows in Texas is a 1000 mile round trip for me.To go to the major airport.. 350 miles round trip. It aint that easy to catch multiple shows for some people, doesn't mean they aren't *big fans*.

To judge a person by the amount of shows they have been to is about as dickish as putting down a setlist to a show you didn't attend or listened to.

Couldn't agree more. Alabama gets one show a year and the only other non-make-a-trip-out-of-it venue is Lakewood.

Not judging based on amount of shows, that part of the comment was arbitrary. I made that pretty clear in my following comments.

I mean, I could tell the difference between the two instruments when I was like 2 years old. Even if you didn't learn it as early as I did, you should have learned it at some point in your life. Shit, in elementary school we had a 30 min music class every two weeks. The difference between violin and a guitar should be common sense.

my original post was to the point that when i sat down all she talked about was how hardcore of a fan they were...also this is a new account-i have been on ants since 2007- but haven't been active on the boards lately and it wouldn't let me post or comment...i could care less if someone is a big fan or not but its just annoying when people try to wave it around- this summer ill end on #41 and my number is killed by most people-but you'll never catch me saying a word at the shows

Boyd has been on the last few years. His playing is light years better since he got that surgery, and he seems to get better each tour. Anyone complaining about Boyd needs to find a new band.

His solos have been great for tunes like #41, LIOG, Nancies, Crush, Ants, Seek Up, and STJL. His notable fills have been much more present as well and those were absent or not as present in 2012-2014 for sure.

Forgot to add this: was at the front of the lawn in Charlotte towards the mid-left side, a girl screams I have to pee, hops the lawn rail, pulls down her pants and pees in the little bit of grass that separates the lawn from the first row of seats. Never seen anything like it.

As much as I try not to judge some of the kinds of people that get brought up in this thread. There is a significant portion of this fan base I have no respect for - this person sounds like one of those people.
