Lars literally said the exact opposite.

Dunno if that guarantees an Outside Lands appearance, but that would be a helluva surprise.

Oh dang. I guess I misinterpreted. I thought I read something from Kirk or James that said something along the lines of what I said.

Lars, however, plays the media, so take it with a grain of salt. Things like this -- they don't happen until they do.

Yeah, I'm not putting a ton of stock in the likelihood of them doing it again, but it seemed like, aside from the mic problems, they enjoyed working together.

We had a 40-minute lightning delay last night, which lead to some interesting experiences on the concourse... anyhow, when they came back they played up into the first verse of Ride the Lightning, sounded great. Overall a great show, loved Fight Fire With Fire, they dropped Halo and NEM, but we had a great time. The kid said it was "the best day of his life". People were giving him high fives and fist bumps, made sure to protect him from some nonsense, good people, great night

glad to hear. easily the best GA experience I've ever had. fans wanted to get down, thrash, move around...BUT were always respectful of others, and always quite encouraging to kids. i can't wait to check out he GA metallica scene when I see them in germany next spring

Great show in Houston last night:
    Hardwired
    Atlas, Rise
    For Whom the Bell Tolls
    Creeping Death
    The Unforgiven
    Now That We're Dead
    Moth Into Flame
    Wherever I May Roam
    Halo on Fire
    Hit the Lights
    Sad But True
    One
    Master of Puppets
    Fade to Black
    Seek & Destroy
    Battery
    Nothing Else Matters
    Enter Sandman

I ask again. When is Metallica going to stop being pretentious and put out a greatest hits comp?

They're more focused on doing killer records right now. The latest album is a good example.

    This.

Also... aren't 'greatest hits' records kind of outdated at this point? I mean, you can purchase single songs and make your own.

Lol, Greatest Hit album? Hit up iTunes and you can have one in 30 seconds. Are Greatest Hits albums even a thing anymore? I'd rather they release more material like Hardwired to Self Destruct.

Going to the show at Soldier Field this Sunday. Will be my first time seeing Metallica and second seeing AX7. I've never been much of a Metallica fan but they're one of those bands I feel I just have to see (plus we have very close seats - hard to say no). Good times will be had.

So a little rabbit trail on the topic...I just bought a ticket to meet and watch Apocalyptica play their Apocalyptica Plays Metallica on Four Cellos 20th Anniversary tour, fairly pumped.

Finnish cello Metallica cover metal ftw

Yeah, that's definitely in terms of years, not albums.

Jason appears on the most albums.
