It's been more than 20 years for me. Probably closer to 30 years. When I do get the flu, I'll think about getting the shot the following year. I'm actually shocked I haven't had the flu at least once in the last 17 years. I work with the public and let me tell you, some of you people are fucking disgusting.

Two things from the weekend

Excessive negative conversation amongst friends/family. Saturday night at dinner, discussions segued between Israel/Palestine, Ebola, one of our friend's experience with viral meningitis, and a relative's paralyzing double brain tumor, and a handful of lesser illness-related topics. I don't want to bury my head in the sand and pretend the world's okay and life will be all roses, but man I was in a bad mood that night that carried over into Sunday. It was like, can we talk about anything else?

Supposed to be going out to dinner with a friend tonight who's moving out of state this week. Yesterday late afternoon she messages asking if we can maybe just make something at our place (her and her husband are staying with her brother til the move) and they'll pitch in. So about 24 hours notice asking if we can host dinner. Oh and she eats gluten free. Put a real strain on the night for my girlfriend and I getting stressed out at the store trying to think of what to make. Settled on bbq pork for some pork tacos. Told her that was the plan before we left the store. When we get home an hour later, she texts that she can't eat pork.

Boarding planes is a nightmare. The zones make no sense. It should board windows to isle, back to front. Apparently it's a status thing to board first so I end up having to climb over people to get to my window seat.
