Re: What irritates you?

It irritates me that people who scam people like this still exist, and also that people who are easily scammed by people like this still exist:

^^The people who buy into that are way more irritating. The fact that the mysticism is so intriguing that you forego logic is crazy. Then you fork over tens of thousands of dollars to boot? No sympathy from me.

On a related note, I got a spam email claiming to be from paypal saying my payment of 119 dollars was set to go through to an account. To cancel it, I just had to (literally word for word in the email) "click the link and enter all your personal information." Who would really fall for that?

There are people like my stepdad who have no clue how to save a picture from an email to the desktop. He downloads viruses every other month.

Yea, I can understand being a little intrigued by that stuff, and hell, even dropping maybe $100 one time just for the hell of it. But it's a way too common thing in NYC, of people shelling out thousands for this stuff. Even if you believe in it, you'd think when they person tells you to fork over a few grand, your internal alarms should start going off.

My wife bought these "bowls" that are almost square. As the main dish washer in the house, those things piss me off to no end. Food cakes in the corners and as you clean the inside you sometimes hit a corner where suds have collected and soapy water goes all over.

Get a dishwasher. Or a new wife that does the fucking dishes like she's supposed too. And makes you a sandwich when she's done.

We have a dishwashing machine, but it doesn't get them as clean as I can/would like.

Washing dishes is the highest form of torture.

It's even worse when you have a newborn who feeds from a bottle every 2/3 hours. Washing bottles and bottle parts all day everyday is like experiencing all 7 layers of hell at once.

I do the dishes at my house for the most part too. But the majority (all but my good pans and knives) go in the dishwasher. Fuck washing those square bowls by hand! I have those too!

My wife's a banker and she's almost numb to how common identity theft is through methods like that. So sad some of the stories she's told me about older people getting taken advantage of.

    Re: What irritates you?

I posted before about how annoying co-workers are when you're the slightest bit sick. Well shit, today was the worst. I could've stayed out all day but I did all the work I could from home before I had to go in around lunchtime. Instantly regretted it. I needed a dark office to just quietly do everything I needed to but I don't have that luxury. So the whole day I got to deal with people saying welcome back/glad I'm feeling better, but not before making a hilarious joke about how I'm contagious or emphasizing their distance from me or not touching anything I did. And we're kind of a small company, but I couldn't believe how many people knew I'd been out. It was like I'd been gone for a month rather than 3 days.

Even if it weren't for all the jokes, I really just didn't want to talk a lot because of my throat, but you have to be polite. So I paid for it with a sorer throat than when I went in.

This tower space heater I have is fancy enough for temperature, timing, and oscillating features but it won't oscillate below 75 degrees. It goes down by increments of 70, 65, and 60. WTF? Why would it matter if it oscillates at 75 or 70 degrees?

Websites have to be so god damn "busy" these days. Seems like I've noticed it more and more in the last six months. Huge fucking tiles with pics. I'd rather have simple, clean looking text. I don't need sensory overload. Makes it hard to distinguish your website from the shitty ads.

I enjoy washing dishes. Havent had a dishwasher in ages. Or a dryer, hanging clothes is a pain in the ass. But the worst household chore is definitelyvacuuming. Dusting and dishes are therapuetic. Floors and folding laundry are things I put off until absolutely necessary.

Also, taking out the trash to public dumsters like in alleys makes me feel dirty. Years ago, in phoenix summer I took some trash out to the dumpster in the alley, only touched the lid...but I touched something and for the next week had some sort of parasite or something that gave me the worst smell ive ever smelt. The worst bo imaginable. I always thought that wasnt real, just like a myth, but oh no. I smelled like elaine must have or jerrys car from the valet. Im still scarred 10 years later.

Agree, so painful, and sometimes there are websites or articles that are so bad that I refuse to ever use again for this reason.

Warren buffet is vary smart. Check out berkshires website. Basic, simple, links to everything you need. Perfect.

I don't know actually. Never heard that, it's much more interesting than them just not producing. I've had a sip only of the stuff and it was enough to know. Bottle I had that taste from was something like 900 god damned dollars.

While I love good booze, that's too steep for me but it was pretty much otherworldly.

From what I understand that Jefferson's is supposed to be nearly the same stuff. Dunno about the Craig's, my friends that love this stuff haven't brought any of that out or don't know about it.

    job interviews. fucking a.

i don't do them often, in my line of work. but when they insist, i hate them.

at least this one was by phone and i didn't have to put on a tie to tell this guy i'm not interested after all.

second irritant: brittish snobby attitudes trying to do a job interview by phone. if i can't understand you, don't get shitty. you're in MY country, asshole. don't be a dick if i ask you to repeat the question.

I had to return a jersey for my dog on Amazon because it was too small. Noticed that the return was delivered to the company on Tuesday but I had no refund yet. So, I emailed them and they said "We noticed that the item was damaged by the customer and we do not refund damaged items" WTF? 1) I didn't damage the item. Literally put it on my dog, it was too tight, and returned it. 2) Were they not going to inform me of this? They had the item for 3 days and never said anything to me. I have asked them for pictures of the damages so that I can report them to the post office (in hopes they just refund the money).

Why would I go through the trouble of returning a damaged item? And, if I did damage it, why wouldn't I have just said that the item came damaged to get the refund?
