Well pulled the trigger and bought a pair of tickets at the Rose Bowl concert in section 11, row 49. It's in the far back, but it's in the middle of the section and didn't want to pay more than $49 a ticket. Besides the bleacher seats, for anyone that's been at the Rose Bowl, are they still decent seats?

I also bought seats for the Rose Bowl - Section 18, Row 59! Only show I've ever seen there was NSYNC in 2001 (don't judge me, it was free) and we were pretty far back. It's a massive stadium and the farthest seats kinda feel like it. Not as bad as seeing DMB at Dodger Stadium the same year, though. Also be prepared for a complete shitshow as far as traffic and parking. When U2 played there on the 360 tour, they parked people up to 5 miles away and bussed them in. I live about 2-2.5 miles away and am seriously thinking of walking for the Coldplay show.

Hope Paradise is swapped out (just not good live), Viva is probably in there, and wouldn't be surprised if Yellow makes an appearance, or maybe Every Teardrop...

Also hope they'll be doing a myloband type thing. Think that'd look awesome on such a big stage, literally and figuratively.

Did you guy see the 'Karaoke Carpool' with Chris Martin from James Corden's late night show? Awesome and hilarious. https://youtu.be/SADub7W22Zg

What's everyone thinking for their tour this year? First time seeing them. The wife and I loved the live 2012 Blu-ray. Hope they top or match that

Read an interview with them a few days ago that mentioned that even though Beyonce is going to be part of the show they aren't doing Hymn For the Weekend. Said it's too new for a 12 min performance where they're trying to fit in as many popular hits as possible.

I loved the sound on that one and some scenes come over so good on the Blu-ray like the wrist bands in Charlie Brown...but the fucking rapid fire editing, are we watching The Prodigy?

This is what I noted about the camera work in my Amazon review:

    Quote:
One of the biggest flaws of this is how busy the camera shots can be during certain songs. You want to pay attention to what's going on but the director decides you need to "feel" the busy parts of the song by going to quick scene shots. When you're at the concert, do you start darting your eyes from left to right about the stage, panning around to quickly look at the audience, back to Guy, quickly to Will, Chris, back to audience? If not then why would people include this as a style? It's bad enough in the movies, it should be intolerable in a concert release.
I would love to see the Live 2003 DVD reissued on Blu-ray if it was shot on film, or in HD, that's a cracker of a show.

Coldplay are a terrific choice for the Half Time show, I'm really excited to see how they do it. I wish they would go with no guests though, unless they brought out Richard Ashcroft for Bittersweet Symphony.

Can't wait for tomorrow night; just slightly more nervous for their 12 min set after seeing video of them rehearsing Paradise and Everglow on Pepsi and CBS's FB/YT pages.

I like both songs, just think they have better stuff to play on this stage.

And knowing both Beyonce and Bruno Mars will be in tow makes me more nervous too, Coldplay is one of the biggest bands in the world with 7 studio albums to their name and over 80 million records sold, they don't need the special guest shtick to make their show awesome.

Amen. I can see Beyoncé with Hymn for the Weekend, but Bruno Mars? He's good, but Coldplay does not need him to put on a huge show.

I was thinking about 2 tickets on the presale with Citi Card, had some decent 2 seats on the floor, but then got some really unrealist excuse of not recognizing my user ID or password. I saw them back in 2009 for $90.00 tickets, today I don't think they are really worth more then that.

I promise they are. Their Mylo tour took the lighting/theatrics to another level from the Viva and X&Y tours. Obviously that was gonna increase the cost.

People are gonna bitch about ticket prices in this thread till the tour starts, but I highly doubt any of you are gonna come back after the show and say it was a bad show or it wasn't worth it. Just bite the bullet, buy the tickets, work a few extra shifts or save elsewhere, and enjoy the show.

I was at the Gorge back in 2009, we had some great seats up close, do they still run up too the lawn area in the middle of the set to bring the love to everyone?

During their 2012 arena tour, they would take a break and pop up in a random section on the other side of the arena in the middle of the crowd and play a few songs. They've done the "into the crowd" thing every tour at least since 2005 so I won't be surprised if they do it again.

No I'm not... doesn't make sense that you'd only be looking forward to a SB because of a 20 minute halftime show because Bruce fucking Springsteen is headlining.

The halftime show this year was awesome, including Bruno and Beyoncé. Bruno is fucking awesome.

Bruno's original half time show was amazing, repeating a song played so recently? Uninspired and repetitive. Simply no need for either of them, they didn't add anything exciting to the show. The outro tribute was awesome.

For the record I really enjoyed both Beyoncé and Bruno's proper half time shows
