Well, that is not correct.
In my experience, 98% of the firearms retailers at gun shows are federally licensed dealers and must conduct background checks.
The other 2% are subject to state laws. Some states require background checks for all transactions, some have other requirements. NC for example, requires proof that a check has been done for all transfers of hand guns. All states make it illegal to sell firearms to people that you have reason to believe are prohibited from owning firearms.
I eagerly await your statistics showing there is a problem concerning guns purchased without background checks from gun shows.
