And I am reminded, on this holy day, of the sad story of Kitty Genovese. As you all may remember, a long time ago, almost thirty years ago, this poor soul cried out for help time and time again, but no person answered her calls. Though many saw, no one so much as called the police. They all just watched as Kitty was being stabbed to death in broad daylight. They watched as her assailant walked away. Now, we must all fear evil men. But there is another kind of evil which we must fear most, and that is the indifference of good men.

My mom showed me that the other day. While the intentions are probably good, it's pretty fucking discriminatory. And really just not as good of an idea as some people are making it out to be, from a business aspect.

Living in major metropolitan area where you either use the subway, cabs, Uber or the bus to get around either because you don't own you own car or feel like having to fight for every parking spot, I think this is good idea. Not all women feel safe getting into a strange vehicle alone or with another female friend, so this may offer a little more security. By no means is it fool proof, there will always be those that take advantage of every situation, but I have no issue with it. And as mentioned above, is it a great business idea to limit your potential client base, not usually.

On the surface, I think it’s a fine idea. I don’t necessarily have a problem with it.

That said, I could see this going to worse places. It could lead to a more divisive and segregated country. What happens when white females aren’t comfortable with black female drivers? Can you request drivers by race or would someone open up a new company that caters to black females? Next would be LGBT only group, etc... And, don’t think men wouldn’t then start creating their own “groups” and I think we all know where that would head.

So yeah, I think it has some discussion points.

I honestly don’t know. How does it work with something like a strip club? How do you legally not have to hire men or get sued for not considering to hire a male? I’m assuming somehow that’s legal.
