Why would you predict she defects? I'd think the opposite based on the pilot.

Basically, this newer ep (2) reinforces it more for me. She loves her daughter and they discussed whether the kids would be alright if anything happened to them. It almost seems as if, somehow, the kids are aware, but the fact that they are sleeper agents would tend to cast doubt. They are travel agents. Maybe they have a plan in place with their kids, in case anything happens, and the kids truly don't know what they do. And playing hockey, you have to wonder...also, the FBI agent is still on to them...and he's good. One thing I didn't like was how they let the uncle go. Real Russian tradecraft would have made him, and the maid, and possibly her son, eventually disappear, probably by seemingly tragic but non-suspicious causes, such as a car wreck. I wouldn't be surprised if they re-visit the clock in future episodes, since it's obviously a high level intelligence source. But who knows?

I guess I've read too many Clancy novels.

I loved the Stan and Phillip caviar scene. That was phenomenal.

It wasn't as good as the scene where Stan strong-armed the stereo shop owner by telling him that his partner was unfireable from the FBI because he was a minority.

I don't think there is any way the kids know.

i got that feeling a bit too, but i figure there will be character-driven episodes later, like couple disputes, family life stuff, etc...their every day life can't be kidnapping former spies and running bug risky bug missions....but the show has to hook the audience

the ending was def cold-blooded, esp with the sweet granny...but when they got into that van i couldnt help but think how great (and fearless for TV) it would be to hear 2 gunshots and see 2 flashes of light through the windows

Caught onto this one late. Watched the pilot last week, and watched episodes 2 and 3 tonight. So far, I'm loving it. I hope it doesn't fizzle after a few episodes. I'm very interested in where it's going, though.

i was surprised he was brought back there...wouldve made more sense imo to bring him right to the academy and mold him exactly how they want to, with the very easy narrative of "your dad was killed by americans while working as a spy, you should hate america"

Great episode tonight, really enjoyed it.

The only issue (and it's kind of small) that I'm having is Stan talking about his job so much to them. Seems rather unlikely that he'd do that given the circumstances, etc.

especially since he kinda suspected them from the beginning. Either its a writing flaw (after being in deep cover for so long there's no way he'd be that talkative), or a plot point (he still suspects them so he's trying to be very open and honest, and may at some point give them opposite info to see what happens)

Oh, that is true, I didn't even think of that. Completely went over my head that maybe he's trying to see how to react to what he says.
