Looks like that one on eBay was altered after market. Damn shame to know that someone fucked with that guitar.

If it's done correctly it won't effect the sound AT ALL. But yes it will definitely lower the retail value years down the road. That said, I'd much rather have someone refinish a DM3 and play it, compared to 50%+ percent of guitar collectors that buy it, keep it in the box and don't play it until the value really goes up and they sell it a few years before the die, to put it bluntly.

I highly, highly disagree. Martin has been the standard for guitars for centuries. I know it's opinion so neither on of use can win this debate but it's not even a question for me about which is better. To my ears Martin's sound so much better. The only time i'd go with a Taylor is if I wanted to play in a full band setting and kind of skimping out on the correct way to mic it. Just my opinion. There are
almost as many Taylor enthusiast who disagree.
And you want to talk about the most over priced guitar, ever, the f'ing Chet Atkins. The only reason that thing sells for 700+ rather than 150$ is because DM played it. Sad but true. I'd never down talk it when people on here try to sell it but i'm glad you got rid of that POS.
