Re: Premium Ticket Packages

Here is the exact quote from the WH page on membership benefits:

Seniority Ticketing Status
For the majority of shows, returning members will be offered priority seating based upon their original date of membership. The longer you remain a member of the Warehouse, the better your seats at shows will be. To give opportunity to newer members, on occasion, seating will be assigned on a totally random basis and will not be based on the original date of membership.

With season tickets, the longer you've had them, the better seats you have access to.

When Warehouse started, the premise was the longer you've been a member, the better seats you'll get.

    It's the same concept.
I'm 99.99% positive StarLake has never had VIP. Granted, my memory keeps getting worse and worse, but I'm pretty confident in saying that.
But, again, the Warehouse is listing event tickets & premium tickets, which looks like there is a new level of seating. GA Pit, I paid more than you level, and then the rest of us. Unless GA Pit = premium tickets. I'll be curious to see tomorrow when we can request tickets.

This is exactly how they've now conditioned us. It sucks so bad in the GA pit that, hell, I'm going to shell out $$$ just to get a good seat without the 6 hour wait and the douche-baggery in the pit.

I'm guessing the premium tickets will be all seated, but who knows.

That's why I can't get into the extra money.
I've been *this close* without waiting in line 6 hours or putting up with a GA pit, so I just can't see spending the extra money for a premium seat.
I'll just live with the past and enjoy the concerts these days back with the other poor peons.

Okay, so I am new to the Warehouse. If I request tickets to a show and get them do I HAVE to pay for them or can I chose not to? I just don't exactly know what my plans will be for this Summer so I was wondering if I could request tickets for multiple dates even though I may not be able to make it to all of them...

Yep and if you're picky about where you sit, I suggest not choosing 'Best Available'. For me personally, I don't want to be on the lawn, so I always pick 'Reserved Seats'

I get where people are coming from. I just see a big difference shelling out thousands for seasons tickets, compared to the $35 we pay.

I think the biggest thing is that senior members dont expect front row seats every show.

But there are many examples of people being flat out declined, or never being in the PIT etc....

I dont think anyone expects the same seats for every show (like a season ticket holder)....but after a set number of years you should feel pretty confident that you will be confirmed and have a good chance at floor seats every show. That is not necessarily what happens. That is the gripe.

It's all relative though. Warehouse set their price for membership at $35 a year. A football team may charge $1,000 (or more) for a seat license, but that's your license until you sell it and there usually aren't recurring fees, so 30 years with those season tickets (not unreasonable) and you're paying roughly the same per year price.

Warehouse members have known from the start that it was a seniority system. Their ticketing policy explicitly states: "The longer you remain a member of the Warehouse, the better your seats at shows will be." That statement is no longer true, because of GA and now this "Premium Ticket Package" bullshit.

I'm not really worried about lawn, reserved seating, or PIT but how much is the price difference between these three when ordering through Warehouse?

I was a member for 6 years and canceled in 2007 because I was declined for all 3 Dave and Tim Spring shows (Boston, Amherst, and NYC). For any of these shows I would've been happy just to get in the door, and I thought my chances were good to get tickets to at least one. I wound up rejoining the Warehouse 2 weeks ago to give the ticket request another shot.

GA and Premium sounds like their way of getting more $$ out of everyone.

    This is exactly right.

When they implemented GA seating last year, I wasn't happy but I eventually came to the conclusion that I'd be fine with sitting a few rows behind the pit in the seats. That's not what happened.

Here's the Camden seating chart: http://www.dim.com/~godbey/camdenseating.gif

For shows at Camden, I was between rows 4 and 6 in the pit, just off center, for pretty much every seniority night. So, my thought was that I would end up in Section 202, between rows D and G. Instead, I got Section 100, Row J, 10 seats off the outside wall (i.e. couldn't see about a fifth of the stage on Jeff's side). Luckily I was able to find better seats and sell those last minute, but going from 15 feet from the stage to obstructed view is fucking bullshit.

It's only going to get worse now that some great seats will only go to those will to pay premium prices.

On LiveNation, it looks like the prices range from $53-90 (including taxes and fees).

Yeah, it'll be $40-45 for lawn (plus fees) and $75 for GA and reserved (plus fees). And then the premium tickets will be who the fuck knows how much.

Maybe the premium ticket only means that it'll come with premium parking

Yes it is, especially in Mansfield. Best $30 I've ever spent.

Will it tell us the exact prices when we buy tickets through warehouse? I dont remember if it does. Or if we specify premium will we just go into it blindly and then our credit card shows up with $200 on it?

    Good to hear.
This should be my first year at Mansfield (these days I only go to my local shows & the shows where my sister lives. She moved this past fall from CO to Boston).

That may be the premise of the Warehouse (loyalty and seniority), but isn't it a lottery system anyway? It's kind of oxymoronic in itself.
