It's not that surprising. He's huge in the blues realm but doesn't get very much mainstream attention. If you're looking for a place to start, I would start with either Blues Deluxe or You & Me, although you can't go wrong with any of his albums. My personal ranking of the studio records:
1. Blues Deluxe (2003)
1a. You & Me (2006)
3. Dust Bowl (2011)
4. Had To Cry Today (2004)
5. Black Rock (2010)
6. Sloe Gin (2007)
7. The Balllad of John Henry (2009)
8. A New Day Yesterday (2000)
9. So, It's Like That (2002)
This is not including the 2 Black Country Communion albums, both of which are absolutely awesome but a different style than his solo stuff.
His live stuff is great too (A New Day Yesterday Live, Live From Nowhere In Particular, Live @ Royal Albert Hall.)
If you need sum, feel free to shoot me a PM.
