Sounds like he could be a decent 4 starter, if given the opportunity. Still seems like he's working with some control issues, but has settled down somewhat - posting a 2.48 k/bb last year. GB rate is below average though, at 36% last year.

I'm starting to think that the four game skid we'll be on after today has put us firmly on the road to mid-summer elimination.

    This team hates me.

True, but he was 22 in his first full-year at AAA. Even though it wasn't too impressive w/ a 4.63 era (4.50 FIP) and WHIP of 1.278, he seemed to make some progress.

The 6.8 k/9 might be a little worrisome to some people, but like I said before, he seems to have harnessed some of his command issues.

Before the Garza trade, BA had Jackson as the Cubs 15th best prospect, but now ranges anywhere from 5-9 depending on what sites you look at. Keith Law put him just out of his top 100 prospects for the year.

Cool story Coker! Yea i follow our prospects pretty heavily. I liked him quite a bit . I think his arm is fucked up though. He used to hit low to mid 90s and last night he was in the 88-89 range topping out at 90 on stadium gun. Really good and quick mover for a 9th round pick. I wouldnt be shicked if he starts sunday to be honest

Haven't read anything about him having arm problems, though I did come across a scouting report that said he has problems with his mechanics and especially his release point.

Sounds a bit like Chris Tillman in that regard. Dropping from low/mid 90s to 89-91.

Absolutely. I'd like for the Orioles to just stick with him, in the rotation, this entire year.

Edit: And for Jackson, he may be throttling back his speed, in order to gain that extra command.

I've just started reading it a little bit. I started following aisle424 a few days ago after a buddy of mine retweeted him. I thought his tweet was pretty damn funny.

No loss today....might fly the "W" for the hell of it!!

I like clubs that are chippy. Teams that make contact by putting the ball in the yard and legging it out. We have a bunch of guys that swing and miss, not to mention who are slow and have limited range on defense. I think our pitching will come around, but this is a worse team than I had originally anticipated. There will be no way we will hover around the .500 mark for long.
