also, well I'm not sure if he was going to be the director or not (or if just exec producing) because I was gonna say, if he was directing, were you seriously expecting a quality story then to begin with? Bay's the most big budget hack storyteller in the entire Hollywood system right now.

Lets put it this way, I had no delusions that this new live action adaptation of the Turtles would be anywhere near what the majority of the fan base would be happy with. At the same point though, I don't think anybody thought he would change one of the key parts of the story line that has been consistent throughout every iteration of the franchise. I mean, this isn't Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles is it?
Plus, with the little amount of information that has been brought regarding this movie, this is not a great way to generate good hype within the large existing fan base.
This in effect is like saying that the Transformers aren't aliens and were actually a product of evolution where cars grew intelligence and turned into animate beings. It's like saying that Spiderman was an alien from the humanoid spider race on Planet X. Its pointless and immediately, for lack of a better term, alienates the already existing audience right off the bat.
I at least wanted to be disappointed with the movie after watching the first 30 minutes, not years before it has even been made.
