The liver comments I understand totally, and tha tis one of the issues that I worry about. I mean, yea I feel great now, but how will I be in 10 years when I'm 40?

Also, if I got sloppy or embarassed myself ever, or got sick or angry I think I would stop. I am a happy drunk, and I am sure a lot of people say this, but I handle my booze very well. 12 beers to me (I am also 6'4 215) is different than 12 beers is to someone else. That doesn't change the health concerns however.

I bet I drink 6 nights a week on average... Most nights is just a beer or two before bed, as high as a 6 pack on a weeknight. Same thing on weekends unless we've got friends over, then all bets are off.

I LOVE gin & tonics....just recently had a vodka & tonic for the first time, these are good too

It really depends on the week. Some weeks it's less than 10 some it's more. But I never have more then 2 on a weeknight. I gain weight really easily and alcohol helps your body retain fat. Really has nothing to do with not wanting to get drunk.

It would be funny if it were true but it wasn't. He was a raging alcoholic and was awful to her. He's had a few really bad health problems and he's only in his 40's. It really is an awful thing.

We've been together for 2 years (she is a big DMB fan too) and we met one of those nights I had "drank too much" I have never lied about my lifestyle or tried to hide things. She knew what she was getting into. She likes to party too, so we drink together quite a bit. She does the bowling thing and disch golf thing with me most of the time.

I knew the OP was an alky when the first two poll options were "None" and "10 or less per week." Holy cow. I don't drink during the week, save for the occassional happy hour. The average weekend sees me killing a 6-pack or less. I'd guess my average is 5 drinks a week. I also hate spending money drinking. It's so expensive and I've got bills to pay. I stopped drinking to get drunk when I left college.

I dont have a family either, like kids I mean. I worry that when I decide to start a family that I wont be able to cut back because I have gotten so used to this lifestyle. I want to be a Dad someday. Besides work I don't have many reponsibilities, and that is how I want it... for now.

I didn't necessarily mean for this to turn into a counseling session (although I knew there would be some of that) just wanted to hear about other peoples drinking habits.

I make pretty good money, I spend it on things of my choice and often that is booze. A 12 pack of beer really isn't that expensive though. Everyone spends some of their money on something someone else thinks is a waste.
