Think we got a decent shot at a successful independent candidate. Democrats arent going to nominate someone sane and practical, they'll go full loony with a Liz Warren type. Trump has his core base but hasnt been trying to expand it. Theres space in the middle, Imo.

I'd like to see the Dems run Franken, O'Malley, Booker, Gillibrand, Klobuchar, and Hickenlooper for a primary. That's a decent array from centrists to progressives and in between.

An independent has zero chance. Not with current campaign finance laws at least. They can't compete with the major parties. There's a reason why Trump ran as a Republican (and why Bernie ran as a Democrat). Neither truly belong to those parties, but they knew they would need the funding and support

People said that about Trump too. Each party just cares about winning. Look at how quickly the GOP and a lot of their base sold their souls to Trump. They flipped on trade, fiscal responsibility and balanced budgets, foreign policy (specifically Russia and the situation in Ukraine), etc.

I'd be happy with someone socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Seems like most people I know in my age group (I'm 33) lean that way.

And a person in Government not a "celebrity"

One of my problems with Trump, Hillary or Bernie was they are too old.
