Not a huge fan, but I saw Chris Cornell solo earlier this year and I was pretty blown away by how good his voice was. I had heard it's been spotty over the last several years, but he was great that night. Some of the notes he hit were just incredible.

He's definitely been hit and miss in the past. The few times I saw him previous to Saturday (3x with Audioslave) he would be off and on. I think he really focused on being 100% for this SG reunion because all reports suggest he's been way more consistent in the past year. I was pretty blown away by his performance on Saturday for sure.

eh, still shitty though...i love pearl jam as much as just about anyone, but i would think it kinda feels like you're being cheated out of a band...and he's not some indie band that's going to play for like 35 mins, this was a borderline headliner...there should be some sort of replacement imo

When I saw SG about 10 days before he died, I coulda sworn Chris said something about a new album in the works. I've relistened to the boot so many times and I can't find that anywhere on there. I don't know how I dreamt it but I'm glad that I'm not insanely crazy and there actually is something coming.

I go through a revisit to grunge about once a year. Last night was Soundgarden surfing on youtube. Damn these guys were good. Just crazy energy and yet still a lot of precision playing, not sloppy. Cornell's voice and darkness, just wow.

Also, PS I think the kids are going to be ok. Watching these old live shows along with some old Nirvana last night, it just dawned on me how dark and sad this music really was. Plus they all looked psycho.

Kids today are going to be fine.
