Absolutely. Kev and I were actually discussing this very thing this morning.
I think it will be a fun movie, but it won't be deep or try to hit on the philosophy of superheroes like MoS and BvS did; which may be a welcome reprieve for some, but I personally love the approach Snyder took and tried to make more than a mindless popcorn flick. I have a feeling this will very much be like the first Avengers movie, but with DC characters. While that fact alone makes it inherently better than the Avengers in my eyes, I fear it will be a straightforward, linear, and easily digestible movie designed to appeal to and appease the masses.
On the one hand, that serves a benefit in that it will (hopefully) make it a financial success and will propel good spinoffs, solo movies, and sequels. The more DC movies, the better; I just don't want them to be like Marvel where there isn't any depth to them is all. But, the more complex something is, the less likely it is to be popular. As an avid DC reader for much of my life, I know the amazing, intricate, and deep stories these characters are capable of providing. Unfortunately I fear that going forward we are going to have bland, uninspired, and unoriginal stories that simply put asses in the seats and nothing more.
