oh and minor detail, no it wasn't the first MM episode last week that also had a blatant F-bomb, I was confusing it with Better Call Saul, they had one in each of their last two episodes. Just confused me cause, I thought the torrents always came directly from the episode how it was broadcast on the night.

The last episode really gave the impression that its not going to end well for Don. His life seems to be unravelling. Lots of scenes of "losing it all"... His family (parting shot of his boys having shakes with Henry, the empty room in his place and mention of Sally being away), losing money, losing his stuff (in his apartment and in Diana's).

Interesting thought, but what does it say that Don seems to almost be content with it all? There is almost a sense of relief for him that all of his past failures are coming to a close.

Maybe, but that isn't stopping him from making the same mistakes. He was headed 100mph into another lust-based relationship with diner chick before she dumped him. I half expected Don to propose during the episode.

    couple chuckles this week

still waiting for something significant to happen
not exactly sure what, but it just seems like nothing is really going on

maybe that's just it - we've gotten a deep look into these characters lives…and that's all it's going to be

"I'm surprised you guys had the balls to show up here again after you embarrassed yourselves last time!"

More signs of Don's personal life leaving him. The last scene was good, like the previous week's last scene. Also interesting that he had no vision for where he wanted to take the company (or his career presumably) since he had to ask everyone else to help him "cheat on his homework".

I think he's trying to figure out what is next in his life and he's struggling to figure it out. He's accomplished so much (in business), but yet achieved so little (personally). Where does he go from where he's currently at?

We're kind of getting a 7-episode long "farewell" that usually occurs in the last 15 minutes of a series finale where you get force fed the answer to each characters' "what's going to happen to them?"

Don seems overwhelmed right now even if he's taking it in stride. Things that he usually can control are escaping from his grasp. I don't like where this is headed for him. His inability to write Roger's speech tells me he's questioning what he wants out of life, professionally and personally. Peggy showed her cards. Creative Director or bust. She's got the spitfire that Don used to have.

so I wonder how many other people on the crew on biting their tongues behind Matthew Weiner's back, hoping to hell they'll have to be subjected to his son's bad acting as little as possible

did you guys watching it live just hear a bleep/silence over top of Sally yelling "fucking", or was it maybe just an alternate clean take?

Yup. I kind of like it. My wife and I have a bet going on what happens to Don. He's slowly losing everything as week before last showed and this last week showed how he is uncertain of the future. At first maybe I thought he was going to eat it; now I think he's just going to walk away from it all kinda like he did in California for a while earlier in the series. I envision the last scene of him sitting on the beach somewhere and some woman walking by him and they get to talking and he just looks at her and says "I'm Dick Whitman"- fade to black.

no, I realized after the first second or two that was just her little way of punishing the dude. That she felt that's what he was essentially doing in the hotel room the night before, asking her to choose between him or the kid. So she was just laying down the sarcasm, like "yea of course that's what I'll do, for the guy that I still basically just met".

cool to see Bruce Greenwood though, that was totally unexpected, had no idea he was guest starring.

Thats what I thought but legit wasnt sure.

Just a few scenes before that we saw Joan yell at the baby sitter (obviously at her kid though).

yea that was a little ugh... c'mon now. You've already got the aforementioned black hole of an acting talent in Son Of Weiner, and Betty getting jealous of Sally about Glenn. We already got the whole Betty is petty more than well enough at this point.
