Over the last two months I've put on about 10 pounds and am now at whopping 160 (I'm 5'3 so don't laugh too much). I've seen nice increases in my lifts and muscle mass (which I like), and for the time being am just dealing with a little extra weight around my stomach (which I'm not fond of). Hoping to pick up some more whey at Vitamin Shoppe this week, along with their ZMA product (I don't sleep all that soundly) and maybe picking up some creatine. Any suggestions?
Glad to hear about the progress. Keep it up

What are you wanting suggestions for exactly?

Maybe I'm just bias, but I've always been a fan of Optimum Nutrition. Strong profile but the price is a few more $$$ than other brands.

Turns out that my job gets me discounts for my LA Fitness membership. Instead of paying 40 a month I now pay 30.

nice... I think I know which gym I'm going to join eventually, but it won't be till this spring...

I have 2 3 month living social deals at 2 other gyms that I need to use up first.... 3 months for $19 trying out new gyms is a good deal in my book...

I need to get back on the wagon. Fell off for a few weeks which is typical for me this time of year.

Gonna try something new though for the next while to see how it works. It's called "Visual Impact Muscle Building" and I downloaded the book off of Demonoid. It's from one of those really gimmicky looking websites, but it sounds really interesting and the guy seems to know what he's talking about. Since I downloaded it for free I figure what the hell.

    That's a hell of a deal though, 19 bucks.

I also found out that my job would actually pay me to not drive to work. I live a couple miles away though and it might interfere with the bulk, but it might be worthwhile to try.

How is LA Fitness? I'm growing tired of my current gym and need a change. Unfortunately, the closest LA is about 20-25 minutes up the road, but if it's worth going to then I'm alright with that distance.

I like it alot. They let you do pretty much whatever you want. Deadlifts (without shoes if need be) and other lifts that other gyms might deem dangerous or distractive (from the weight slamming to the ground).

Staff is cool, and there's not really any douchebags that I notice. There's a couple of old white knights that are always making sure to workout near the women, but aside from that it's nice.

And they have plenty of cardio machines and the group cardio daily I think.

I think I was just looking for any specific brands of ZMA that you guys have tried, and also I've been thinking about using creatine again, wondering if there was anything special that you did or if you saw any benefits. I'd most likely be buying the monohydrate, just wasn't sure if it was worth it. All I'm taking right now is a multivitamin, whey, milk (for the casein and extra calories) and one round of NO Xplode.

I haven't tried ZMA before so I really couldn't help you there (I do however take zinc and magnesium tablets). As far as creatine goes, try to find a mono that contains creapure.

any brand of ZMA will do... just get whatever the cheapest is really... make sure it has the recommended amounts of each...

I've used cheap supplements brand, ultimate nutrition and NOW brands before and was very satisfied...

I also have cheap supplements creatine mono... works great...

ZMA is a synergistic combination of Zinc and Magnesium designed to maximize absorption and promote recovery from exercise. Zinc plays a central role in the regulation of cellular growth and tissue repair, as well as the maintenance of a healthy immune system. Magnesium is essential for the maintenance of electrolyte balance, energy production and normal neuro-muscular function. Because physical activity can increase the need for these two minerals, ZMA is the ideal supplement to aid in their replenishment.

for me... I've noticed that if nothing else it promotes a deep restful sleep which in turn should help promote recovery. It's normally taken before bed.

You may know already, but be really careful if you're not using gloves. I'd recommend wrist wrapping as well. You can really mess up your hands/wrists on a heavy bag.

What are the advantages of a protein shake over fat-free milk? I was looking at the milk container and a whole gallon of milk has 154 grams of protein. I'd have to do the math, but to me that seems much cheaper comparitvely than buying whey.
