time bomb = Eddie Vedder

Well, I only bought the GrooGrux one week ago, so everything's new to me.
When I first listened to time bomb I had to take a look on my mp3 player if it's the same CD, cause I thought it sounded so much like Eddie Vedder.
Which is really a good thing to me.

Who else thought the same???

No, mostly because it didn't sound awful.

Well, nevermind, I really like the song. Quite unusual for DMB.

I just figured out why I don't really like Time Bomb. It really reminds me of better orchestrated Hunger For The Great Light. Ugh.

Actually yes, I did hear the similarity in Dave and Eddie's voice in the screaming parts. I said that same thing to my boyfriend at the time. Granted he thought I was way off, haha, but I do know where you're coming from.

I like the song and I think a comparison of the voice between the two is a damn good thing. Btw, welcome to the boards.

If I'm not mistaking, Pearl Jam makes all their cds available for purchase while DMB only puts out some. However there are taper pulls.

    No you're not

I first heard TB on youtube when some of the songs leaked and i honestly thought it was Eddie. After a couple listens i realized i was wrong but very similar imho

Not at the beginning but during the first loud chorus, the screams sound very similar to the sandpaper growl that Eddie can do.

Time Bomb does have a very Pearl Jam-esq vibe to it. Partially the reason why I like it, it's cool to hear a different sound from the band.

OP it does sound like it somewhat... anyone who says you're completely wrong is just being a stuck up jerk. It's the style of the singing is extremely similar, not that his voice sounds like Eddie's.

I agree that the screaming part, the entire band goes Pearl Jam (even live) and I don't like my Dave Matthews Band sounding like Pearl Jam in any way.

I just think that the song is so over rated anyways. Squirm is a much better song!!!!

Yeah Op, same here. I actually thought Dave's voice sounded exactly how Eddie does in the song Marker in the Sand.

I don't really hear it in Time Bomb, but in the recording of Good Good Time I have, Dave sounds a lot like Eddie in parts.
