Big fan of Kings of Leon. Definitely in my Top 10, maybe even Top 5, favorite bands. Definitely worth sticking around and seeing them, but like Alex said, take the next couple months and listen to some of their catalog. Only negative about them live is that they don't expand on the songs. Not everyone has to be DMB, but it would be nice to hear a different guitar solo than what's on the album.
Their sound starts to change on their third album "Because of the Times". In my opinion it is for the better. It's not popular opinion, but I think their best albums are "Because of the Times" (might be my favorite), "Only by the Night", "Come Around Sundown" and "Mechanical Bull". "Walls" still isn't really doing much for me.
I became a fan later though. The earlier stuff doesn't do much for me. I know older fans prefer the edgier less polished sound, but not me. I think the early stuff is alright, but it's a bit amateur to me. "Because of the Times" is when they started really honing in on their sound and crafting better tunes. Call it selling out if you want, but I think they just became better songwriters as they got older.
