All the other ones are going to be too campy, obscure, or uninteresting to be the focus of a big-time Batman movie. The best Batman stories, IMO, are focused around his early days dealing with the mob, the Joker, and more realistic villains like Riddler or Black Mask. Earth One: Vol. 2 gave us a great example of what a Riddler movie could be. The more recent Telltale video game also gave us a fresh take on Penguin and a little revision on the Wayne name which I found really fascinating.

Apparently Affleck went on Kimmel last night and said that he's working hard on Batman and that everyone should just leave him the fuck alone about it .
Court of Owls would be dope on screen. I would love to see that. I hope they at least do an animated feature for that one day. But that could play out very well in a live action movie. I might actually reread that run.

Reynolds wasn't the problem, it was the horrible script and the awful decisions made regarding the villains and action. I actually thought Reynolds fit Hal to a T. Tom a Cruise would be almost 60 when this comes out, would be a terrible choice. And I like Tom Cruise.

And Kev it's funny you mention that, I just reread Court and City of Owls about a month or two ago. Really does hold up well. Snyder's narrative style is old to me by now but he was still crushing it back then. I agree that it could translate really well on the big screen, as well. The psychological torment and confusion of being trapped in the maze beneath the city would be awesome to watch. Imagine him hallucinating various villains he's gone against over the years, or having a traumatic flashback to the death of Robin?

Damn Mike. You really should write these things. That sounds so great. That dream sequence could work very well given the one in BvS.

Never thought of James Marsden, but he would make a great Hal. I'm totally on board with him.

Mike, I also agree about Reynolds. I thought he was really good. I didn't hate Green Lantern like a lot of people did. I thought it was fun enough, but I really want to see true justice done to that character. He's become one of my favorite super heroes over the past few years.

I didn't have a problem with Reynolds, I'm just baffled the studio would consider him again after the movie was so poorly received.

I'm not excited for a Cyborg solo movie at all. He's just not an incredibly interesting character to me. I like how he was incorporated in Justice League: War.

Cyborg doesn't need a solo movie. Flash doesn't either. His origin story was told so well on the CW that it doesn't need a movie made. If they do the movie, I hope it isn't an origin story.

I would think that Wonder Woman will be the only JL member standalone that's an origin.

They can still get away with it as it comes before JL...but anything after should be a solo outing. Don't rehash.

I'm all for a great Flash movie. The show is such a disappointment to me that I want to see a better take on the character. Agreed that the origin story shouldn't come after Justice League.

I think DC/Warner Brothers just might have hopes that more people will go see a Flash movie than are currently tuning into the Flash TV show.

it's gotten something to do with his uncle, right? some seemingly innocuous action on his part leads to his uncle getting wasted then he gets bit by some wacky bat, right?

I'll be interested to see how much of this film is underwater and how much CGI they use.

Never cared about the character until I read the New 52 Geoff Johns run. That was some really good stuff. I picked up a few after that and I wasn't digging the direction the new writer was going in. I forget who it was. Really looking forward to seeing him on screen.
