It is based on the size of the artwork, the amount of time it took to make the artwork and how proud I am of the work.
If piece hangs on my wall in my house you would pay more for a similar style/ size piece that has been stuck in a my closet for 5 years.
If a person got to actually see the originals and not just images on a computer they would see that they do not all look the same.

I was in a hurray this morning...What I meant to say was that you would pay more for a piece of art that I like enough to hang on the walls of my own home than you would for another piece that is a similar size and style but has been in a closet in my house for years.
This is actually a really good question that a lot of artists ask themselves. "How much should I charge for my artwork?"
I have a formula, I take the length and multiply it by the width and this gives me a starting price. If the artwork took 1 week or less this is probably, the price I would charge, but if the artwork took weeks or even a month than I add some to this starting price. If I really like the work I may add a bit more. There is nothing worse than selling an original painting and then thinking "damn I did not charge enough for that"
A good example of this is the BTCS painting that is attached above. It was one of my first sells at a time when I had no idea what my work was worth. 5 years and 28 originals sold later, I would sell that same BTCS piece today for probably at least $1200.00 more than I did back then.
