Could mean something or mean nothing.

Technically (and legally) speaking, all those songs were copyrighted the second they were written down and/or went to tape. So the older songs HAVE been copyrighted for decades now. This just makes it more official.

The making 20 year old songs 'more official' though DOES lend some credence to the idea that they will be put out more officially, i.e. a Live Trax or in-store live release, as opposed to a DMBLive.

But also could have been someone being like 'oh, hey, we never submitted these old songs.'

Would be cool if they put out a new album with an accompanying B-side disc of live rarities.

At this point, I couldn't care less about what live rendition of what song makes it onto a Warehouse membership CD, but if they were to do a Warehouse membership CD consisting of never before released studio cuts of songs that are rare, or material we've never heard of before, THEN I'd have to own it.

Take, for example, Falling Off The Roof (Jackpot), it's probably finished and sitting somewhere but releasing that lossless would generate great interest from all of us.

You don't consider Little Thing on the Luther College release a full song?

I feel like if Kind Intentions is getting thrown around suddenly tn Dressed in Black and Light Lift Me Up should also get a chance to see the light of day.

That being said I think both of those sort of made their way into AFTW so they are probably dead.

Just to clarify, ASCAP has nothing to do with copyright. Copyright is a set of legal rights that (basically) exists right away, though typically people register works with the US Copyright Office. ASCAP collects and distributes royalties. So you register with ASCAP so they know you're the owner of a piece of music and can properly pay you when it's used.

Annnnnd this. Feel like an idiot for not catching that...stopped reading at the copyright part I guess.

Registering older songs with ASCAP is definitely more of a potential sign they will be released than officially copyrighting them, but it also doesn't necessarily mean anything more than they just want to have it all set up in case they do something in the future.

So much this. So so so so much this.

Couldn't possibly care less about more live stuff. I'm just over it. If I really want to hear a version of something that bad, I'll just find a taper pull of it.

Backlog studio stuff... please just take lots of my money.

Hmmm. It's probably not what you're thinking, or it's not as straightforward as you'd think first looking at it. That help?

Alrighty. You're the one complaining. You could just take what I say as a hint that there is meaning behind this and it will be a good reason for the fans here soon. Pretty simple.
