Re: Of Monsters and Men

They were fantastic last night. Their sound had a combination of energy and crispness that's rare to hear. It was great to see them in such a small venue.

Chicago show was awesome. This band brings it live!!! So much energy, great stage presence! The mix off the soundboard was superb for them being so limited with touring equipment, IMO. Their live setting can hold its own with the studio tracks. Hung out with them after the show, got some pictures and autographs, really nice folks. The opening act Lay Low was pretty cool, too. Talked to her for a bit and bought all of her CDs so I can listen to her more in depth. She's just a solo acoustic player; fit right in with Of Monsters and Men. Best show I've been to in a long time! Cannot wait to see them again!

Album dropped today. The US release does not contain all tracks available on the Icelandic release. However, it does contain two brand new tracks, which are actually pretty great.

Been waiting for this. I missed the show in Portland since I was at the Galactic show, but hoping they come back through again soon.

So weird that not only did they add two tracks to the US version, but they moved the order around a ton.

    Seeing them tonight

The Portland show was great. For a small venue the Roseland is a nice place to see a concert. Not as cool, but better than the Crystal Ballroom. They said it was the biggest room they had ever played.

Anyway, they put on an amazing live show.

The show last night was very good. You could tell they were nervous. They had good chemistry together and looked like they'd been playing together for a long time. The show was about an hour 10 minutes. The crowd was mixed- some people who were really into them, some people who only knew Little Talks and acted like dicks the rest of the time. Definitely a good show. These guys are going to be huge soon

saw them in Boston the other night without really knowing any of their material. friend had an extra ticket, youtubed a few songs for 30 secs each and said I'd take it.

they put on a really great show. that's really as specific as I can get since I didn't know any songs in particular, but they were fun and I'd definitely go again.

INSANELY excited to see them at Lollapalooza this year. The moment I listened to this band I fell in love. The whole album is a gem.

Lakehouse might be one of my favorite songs, like, ever.

Has her voice gotten any better live? You can tell they really "helped" her out on the album because it's been fairly weak live.

Her voice was fine in Chicago and that was in march. She seemed nervous and she seemed alot different when I hung out with them after the show, so maybe she's got a case of stage fright/timid ness. Pumped for the phillynshow in July!

Maybe that's it. They were very sloppy on the live version of 'Little Talks' they play on Sirius all the time. And the Jimmy Fallon appearance she sounded very squeaky.

If it's the same version that is played on Pandora, it's from like over a year and a half ago (if I remember correctly)...maybe more, but from somewhere over in Iceland (if I again remember correctly). They sounded great at the show, not like the record, obviously, but it was so great on a whole other level. I didn't see the Fallon performance, but I will watch it now...
