Guess Jeff doesn't know how often the "Family" admins practically encourage the distribution of the band's copyright material by defending members who make posts like "Dave would be fine with it, I go to lots of shows and spend money so he wouldn't mind" to justify their stealing of music and threatens to ban the person who politely mentioned the material was copyright and shouldn't be posted.

The admins there are a joke, RLM should have shut those fuckers down ages ago.

Jeff is a great guy, and just super positive about making music in general. He sees the upside to any musical experience. I've seen him do clinics and concerts with small community colleges when, at his level, he could restrict his clinics to larger schools and charge way more. The dude is just all about music and making it a great experience no matter what.

I'm not speaking for him, but I would imagine he's just not down with the negativity. There's a lot of hyperbole thrown around about The Ladies but seriously, there are worse things in the world. FYI, I'm not the biggest fan of them but sometimes you have to mix things up to keep it fresh on stage.

With taking a media law class last semester, i certainly learned the value of copyright and the importance of it(more then i previously knew being young and naive). Are we all guilty of breaking it? of course, anyone who isn't guilty of it is a liar. But to openly promote doing it in a massive forum such as that and ban people for bringing it up saying it probably shouldn't be allowed, not to mention the fact they try to consider themselves all high and mighty as an official Facebook group of the band, its a bit unprofessional and not a good look.

I studied copyright law, of all places, in World Literature I my sophomore year of college. We were talking about Don Quixote and how a "sequel" was published unofficially by another author, and it pissed off Cervantes so much that he wrote an official sequel and published it. The unofficial "sequel" was allowed to be published because there wasn't copyright law during the 1600's.
