I "read" aka Audibled some pretty good books lately at my wife's request.

    Bear Town by Frederick Backman
    Echo by Pam Muņoz Ryan

Beartown was a really good listen to from start to finish with great character development. It also revolves around hockey but then shifts gears pretty hard towards the end. Would recommend.

Just finished "the other Wes Moore"

    Great book

I don't feel like making a spoiler for this but here is a somewhat spoiler

The book talks about two kids that were from the same neighborhood in Baltimore shared the same name, we're around the same age, and we're both raised by a single mother. The two kids had totally different outcomes in life the Wes Moore who wrote the book had a very successful life while the other Wes Moore is in jail for the rest of his life for murder.

The book basically goes back and forth telling the story of both of Their lives. I found the book interesting. Wes Moore is making a speech at my university in two weeks so that will be interesting.

Right now I'm reading The Fall by Camus. It's just one long monologue, took a bit to get into it, but it's pretty captivating now.

Re: What are you reading right now?

finished Station Eleven last night, was really kind of disappointed with the ending. it just sort of fizzled out. parts of it were beautifully written and engaging, but the last 50 or so pages left a lot to be desired. lots of pointless characters and details that amounted to absolutely nothing.

torn on what I want to start next - I picked up The Name of The Wind in hopes of being impressed with a new fantasy style novel, but also recently got "Annihilation" which was featured on The Ringer's "The Watch" podcast. I also need to read The Kite Runner and The Unseen World.

I loved it, definitely will read again at some point. Have you read any other Dickens novels?

I just finished The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, a 60s spy novel by Le Carre. I kind of liked it, but couldn't wait for it to be over. Just started The Ministry of Fear by Graham Greene. Love him as a writer (End of the Affair is great), so have high hopes for this one as well.

This will be my first Dickens novel in general. Very behind on my classic literature.

If you're going to dive in, that's a great place to start the catch up. I've always heard Dickens quite clearly in my head while reading. Not many authors are like that. It seems musical.
