How does Warehouse work for tickets?

Good morning friends. I last posted to this forum in 2008!! It's been 9 years! Anyhow, I've always bought my tickets on the secondary market for shows. I've been thinking about joining Warehouse again. Is it worth doing and how exactly does it work for buying tickets compared to waiting for the tickets to go on sale to the general public. Thanks!

There is a request period where you select the shows you want, and you can usually opt out of lawn if you'd like. Once the request period is over they run their lottery and if you get selected you MUST buy the tickets even if they aren't exactly what you want. If confirmed you'll know the type of ticket you have but not the exact location. That will be given to you a few weeks later. Seniority is supposed to matter but Newbies usually get better seats.

So, when tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at 10am.......they aren't really "on sale"......you are just able to go in and request where you would like to buy seats? I mean, is it a mad rush starting at 10am to put in your request? I'm confused.

There is no mad rush or anything. There is a request period (19th-30th) and you can put in your request at any point during that period. It doesn't matter if you request the first day or last, your odds of being confirmed for the tickets you'd like remain the same. If you're approved, your credit card is automatically charged for the price of the tickets you're confirmed for.

lol, bunch of smart asses on here. Yep, forgot about the schmucks who have nothing better to do than belittle people 25,458 times since 2004. And if you read the DMB website, they give no details about the very questions I asked about. I'm not dumb. See you in another 9! And thank you Witt for being gentlemanly.

The Warehouse is a crapshoot. You put in your requests, they have a request period, and then they let you know what you got confirmed for.

Shows have different levels of seating - usually pit, upper level, lower level and lawn. You can usually opt out of lawn. In a venue that is only upper/lower level - you can pick that level but there is no guarantee you will get tickets, or that you will get lower level tickets. So you take a chance with it.

Once Warehouse informs you of what you got, then you can try in the public sale for what you didn't get confirmed for. I like the Warehouse because I can try to get tickets for high demand shows. Usually every summer of the 6ish shows I request for, I get declined for two.

30.00 a year is worth it for that, and you get the member CD. Also, new Warehouse members get treated better in ticket sales/requests than long term members. I'm not sure why, but we see it happen every year.

    From the Warehouse site:

(The time requests are placed does NOT affect confirmation.)

Closes Monday, January 30th at 12:00 Noon ET

Confirmations will post on or before Thursday evening, February 9th.
    Hope that helped!

So I am in the same boat as Melissa. I have been a warehouse member for about 5 years but always purchased my tickets through Ticketmaster in the past. Honest opinion is it worth going through warehouse for seats (not lawn) or should I just log in to tickmaster first thing February 10 at 10 am?

I think you should try both. you won't get stuck with tickets you can't get rid of. just make sure to opt out of lawn when making your warehouse request.

I also happen to think that with the pit areas being assigned seating rather than GA, a request for warehouse premium can be worth it, depending what you're looking to spend and how important having excellent seats is to you. it's $550 for two tickets, but you get two posters that you can sell for anywhere between 50-150 (even more for some posters) and two pieces of random dmb/D&T swag that you can generally sell in the 50 dollar range as well.

    With maps.

Ticketing -> Tour Dates -> View event listings (for show you want to know about.)

It lists all levels and their prices with an accompanying map.

Looking at several shows, the pricing is usually:

    $95 - Lowers
    $85 - Uppers
    $40 - Lawn

I hope Pit and Lower are split. I don't want to select the 95$ level and end up with pit. Especially since I'm going for single tickets, I can't imagine I'll be able to trade a single pit for a single reserved seat

Pits look to be seated reserves

So if I were to select "premium" does it give you a better shot at getting tickets? Also, are they going to be really good seats?

All pairs/groups in a single request are together. If you have separate accounts and make separate requests for the same show, the two pairs more than likely would not be next to each other (unless you get extremely lucky).

A single request for two tickets won't result in two singles not next to each other.

If y'all have separate accounts and both request pairs, your pairs will not be next to each other.

And Warehouse has cracked down on multiple accts per household, happened to a buddy last year, so I won't be using my wife's acct this year:

Very first line in the TICKETING GUIDELINES:

    WAREHOUSE TICKETING OVERVIEW

To ensure a good experience for all Warehouse members, there is only one membership per household and is not to be shared. Warehouse Ticketing does scan data to ensure that all members have a fair chance of being confirmed for tickets.
