Perhaps more of the Dave-type crowd shows up to this since, ya know, Dave is performing.

You guys ever stop to think that maybe putting Dave on the bill is to attract some white folks to this thing that will like also attract some black folks? You know, bring folks of different backgrounds together and whatnot.

Maybe it'll be cool to be in an environment with folks other than the usual DMB crowd? And if he's not a major draw there, think of how easy it may be to get close.

Just trying to throw out some positives.

Well, I'll definitely go. Could be the day of the last Braves game at Turner Field, though.

Tickets purchased. The main thing is about awareness through song, so I'd be shocked if he didn't perform.

"Grammy-Winning Hip Hop Stars T.I. and Macklemore, Singers/Songwriters Aloe Blacc, Goapele and Alice Smith, Grammy-Winning Jazz Vocalist Dianne Reeves, Grammy Award Nominated A Cappella Ensemble Sweet Honey In The Rock, and Artist/Actor/Activist Jussie Smollett have signed on to perform at the event, joining the celebrated line-up that features a mix of artists and thought-leaders including John Legend, Chris Rock, Jesse Williams, Common, Estelle, Dave Matthews, Carlos Santana, Public Enemy, Danny Glover and Dr. Cornel West. The festival will be held at Bouckaert Farm, 20 minutes southwest of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Tickets can be purchased at TICKETFLY.com"

From the website itself. What I am getting from this (and I could be completely wrong) but what stands out to me is the "thought leaders" phrase which makes me think he's only speaking

Says artists "and" thought leaders, so Dave falls under the artist category and not the thought leader category?

I'd like to go just want some more info, us ants at this thing will have to stick together

Looks like a cool event. Not surprising at all that Dave is playing given his history of playing activism gigs. Keeping an eye on it, but waiting for more details before shelling out $100+ for 2 day tix. Tim has no gigs between Farm Aid and his TR3 tour in mid october so maybe he shows up, but Dave & Santana already seems like a rare treat

Maybe they will sell one day tickets cheaper closer to the event. I think it's just Dave solo, no Tim.

This seems incredibly unorganized. Given location in relation to the city of Atlanta, I would have thought they would have some sort of shuttle system similar to what Tomorrowland had down there. Also, would have thought, they would have a site map as well.

I don't necessarily think it is weird to not have schedule yet. Seems like there is a lot of artists to add to this and most festivals only release a couple of weeks before.

This is less of a music festival and more of a social awareness event, so I wouldn't expect detailed schedules, venue maps, single day tickets, much more organization...heck, Bonnaroo didn't even announce times until a month out

Wish I wouldn't have already booked tickets to Music Midtown, although I think the lineup is better if Dave is removed from the equation. I hope he gets a good turn out. Anyone else going to Music Midtown?

Yikes, this Music Midtown Line-Up is fairly awful. I have heard tickets sales are equally as bad for this year's festival. When 21 pilots is one of your headliners, you know its a bad situation. I'd want to hear the Alabama Shakes and maybe City & Colour

That line up looks terrible to me. My friends are ecstatic about it. Maybe I'm too old

They announced on the radio 'with performances by Santana, Dave Matthews, John Legend...' and played clips of them singing after each name. I feel more confident that he will be an actual performer as opposed to a speaker. My only concern is that if he isn't treated like a headliner, then he'll play a 50 minute set consisting of 5-6 songs and that'll be it. I actually think the latter is the way it's going to play out.

And for the record, I hope it is a BLM gathering. I'm all for it.
