The show was FANTASTIC!!! Almost the same setlist as the one at the Tower, but Ray blew me away.........I was actually in the 4th row, but Ray was directly in front of me all night and I was just mesmerized.

There was an obnoxious girl screaming from the balcony for Hannah, which Ray politely said he wasn't going to play and she kept it up, he said something about AA in town looking for her...............it just puzzles me why people have to ruin the intimate atmosphere of these places...........???

He has got such a powerful voice.........can't wait to get this recording (tho that damn chick screaming os going to ruin it!)

    5 more days till MSG!!!!

He's playing here in Louisville, KY April 25th at the Brown(awesome, intimate venue) - but my insane excitement about this ended abruptly when I realized that the same night I'll be in Nashville seeing Big Whiskey.

its sad, but inevitable. at his last Chicago performance, these annoying girls directly behind us kept yelling "Trouble!!", even after he played it. they were up dancing in the aisle for the last 5 or so songs - and were right in my view. at that point in time, they were whores in my book.

I met Ray and the band on my first show. (INDY October 2008) I first saw this guy on LIVE AT ABBEY ROAD and wanted to see him live ever since. So pretty cool to meet him personally. He cant stand the Jolene yellers and i still cant figure out if he wants the people at his venue's to stay seated. I went again this year in Ann Arbor (The Michigan Theatre) and he played Jolene first i think just to get it out of the way and to control the audience. He made a reference that he wasnt an asshole or a troubled soul and went on to talk to the audience...he claimed it was the first time he has talked openly at a venue in 6 years. The dude was totally funny he talked for 5 minutes or so about growin up poor, trailer parks, and a few other funny quips. He had an opener named Jessica Lea Mayfield that recently was working with the Black Keys. The Black Keys are being produced by Rick Rubin who was the person who last worked with Johnny Cash and in my opinion everything he touches turns to gold. I actually was able to briefly speak to Jessica Lea Mayfield after the show and wish i would have known more about her and the Rick Rubin connection beforehand. I would like to get a copy of that show if anyone knows a means of doing so. I am diggin Ray....even dmb has admitted they werent that great when they first started so i have my eye and ear on this one. I even like a few songs from Jessica Lea Mayfield and she now has some huge street cred with me just from the Rick Rubin connection.

Jessica Lea Mayfield has the capability to be really good...but her age really shows my the immaturity of her songs and the fact that she has little variance in sound between each one. The first song you're thinking "ok, this is kinda good". by the third one you're asking "why does she continue to play the same song over and over?" Good voice though - so the possibility is there with people helping her along the way, such as RR.

I think both of those are symphony/orchestra shows, which sounds pretty interesting.

yeah just saw his solo acoustic in atl last night.
it was great, i would give the crowd a b+ they were mostly respectful and quiet, not too much disrespectful yelling. he has really bad stage fright so little things can throw him off but he was practically flawless and his voice was gorgeous and booming last night. he mixed it up from his big 3 releases and played 2 covers. please for the love of god DONT yell hannah. also i would suggest going early to see the oper lissie, she was great

cant comment on this solo tour, but expect to be blown away. if you are in a decent theatre and its solo, hopefully the crowd will be on the same page. i have a few reviews of past shows in my sig if you are interested.
