I was just having some fun. I do apologize if I offended you.
I wouldn't say I'm super advanced, and it would only take a beginner to notice that any degree of Jack Johnson's musical skill is extremely sub-par. Now there's your comment to make me seem way above it.
I actually liked Brushfire Fairytales but, I never thought it would launch him into headlining major shows (nor should it). It only took a few listens to this album in it's entirety for me to realize his repetitive chords & strum patterns... this became a major nuissance to me & IMO a very obvious flaw for a mainstream musician. I will admit, part of my disdain has been the evolution and success of his career with little improvement on his end as a musician. He gets too much credit (not that he wants it) but, it's just not deserved.
He does write some catchy stuff but, I can only tolerate a song here & there. I'd have trouble listening to his albums in their entirety more than once or twice, let alone the entire catalog.
My initial comment was a playful swipe, this comment is a reaction. I thought I'd share why I said what I said without delving into it too much. I hope that explains it briefly with or w/o merit. In closing...
this is an appreciation thread and neither myself nor my initial comment have a place in here. My apologies, no mas bickering.
