Other bands do. And it's usually at a point in their career where focusing on the future isn't really much of an option.
Foo Fighters, on the other hand, are a great example of how to acknowledge a twentieth anniversary. Have a concert. Acknowledge the significance, but focus on the career.
It's not worth DMB's time and effort to try to do something for the anniversary, especially not for the purpose of pleasing the people here. The band is playing the hell out of the first three albums this tour, and it's being blasted as one of the worst tours the band has ever done on this site. To the point where they are posting angry letters, and comments are annoying band members on twitter so they can high five when they got blocked.
