They've never really mattered to me. There will always be exceptions, but lyrics are the last thing in a song that I care about for most artists, DMB being high up there as one of them. I don't listen to Pixies or Prince or Billy Joel or a shitton of other people for the lyrics, I listen primarily for the music. I love singing, but I don't care really about the actual words being used (unless it's like SUPER racist or something.)

Guys like Bob Dylan, you're there for the lyrics. But Radiohead? Those lyrics just read are mostly garbage. But they work for the music and his voice.

Also yes, I love one of the most popular bands in music history.

Dreaming Tree was going to be cut from BTCS, but Ben "GODDAMN" Affleck and Gwenyth "I find her more attractive than most people do" Paltrow visited the studio (as one or both of them were friends of Dave's at the time) and convinced him to put it on the album because they loved it.

I doubt it sincerely, but that would be the funniest story ever if true.
