Is BTCS Your Favorite DMB Album? (LWS Not An Option)

lws captain is pure brilliance, I'll say. And yeah, Raven is one of the reasons I don't like LWS as much. Considering I don't think it's that great on BS, it's not a song I particularly like. But there are also a few tracks that feel like filler and/or I don't feel go well with the record (Busted Stuff, Kit Kat Jam, Monkey Man, JTR)

If I'm being honest with myself, it's probably third after UTTAD and Crash. I'm not sure which of those two is one for me though. They are all so so close.

I'm going with YES although it's very hard. UTTAD and BS would almost equal it I think.

The richness/depth of the sound, all the instrumentation, the guests, it's as perfect an album I'll ever hear, of that I'm sure.

For me, Crash is like the movie High Fidelity, and BTCS is like There Will Be Blood. TWBB is a much better overall film, more mature, grand, inspiring, and took more effort. But it's not something I can watch over and over. I need to spread it out to fully appreciate it each time. Whereas I can watch High Fidelity everyday and never get sick of it.

No, but honestly, I totally get what you're talking about. I'd say that, for me at least, UTTAD and Crash are far more accessible in the fact that I can listen to them at pretty much any time and really connect with almost every single song on each album. On the other hand, I have to be in a particular mood to enjoy BTCS. That being said, when I'm in said mood, it's truly an incredible listening experience. I also feel more inclined to listen to BTCS as a complete album, whereas I don't have as much trouble seeking out specific songs from UTTAD and Crash.

BTCS for me, but I have been listening a bunch to the LWS's on You Tube recently. I love every song in those sessions just as they are. Being raw kind of makes it even more special.

all the songs off of BTCS may not be my favorite, but the album is so beautifully made that it's impossible not to fall in love with it. I actually think a lot of the "best of" versions of these songs are still the studio releases. After 10 years of fandom, it's still my most listened to CD of all time.

Favorite album? Absolutely, yes. Favorite single grouping of DMB songs? Probably not.

BTCS is mostly about DMB finding perfection in the studio, something they haven't done since. Like some others have stated, while all these songs are great live, many of them have their "best of" rendition right there on the album to this day. BTCS is DMB's album with the most real staying power.

UTTAD was better-produced. If BTCS had been produced as good as UTTAD and track 10 was titled Don't Burn the Day it would be better though.
