I remember hearing the theory many years ago. I like it, but my money is still on OJ being the real killer.

I'm pretty sure the theory is centered on:
-DNA narrows the suspects down to OJ or close family
    -The son is mentally unstable
-The son was a chef and carried big knives with him
-OJ's reaction (nearly suicidal) fits the theory

Interesting. I'm hoping some more details come out as I watch more episodes. The main guy with the theory got a storage locker that Jason Simpson had gotten behind on payments. He found a bunch of journals that are seemingly disturbing and also a knife that fits the wounds in the killings. If something like that panned out with any evidence, it would be major news already.

I read when he gets out he might confess to everything. Ron Shipp or some other dude said that.

Bottom line, if OJ's prosecutors were as good as his Dream Defense Team, he would be dead after a brief stint at San Quentin.

I do agree that he should be paroled. What happened to him is bullshit and he legit got screwed. He just had bad planning. Could have easily killed those motherfuckers and hid the bodies with enough planning, and gotten his stuff back. I would have acquitted him of all charges on a nullification basis. He technically committed a crime, but it was justified. We all know he was sentenced and punished for the murders.

And hearing Nancy Grace's commentary is like nails on chalkboard. Why won't she go away?

the prosecution did a good bit of bungling, but Mark Furman absolutely put reasonable doubt into the heads of the jury, especially in the most racially-divided time in the history of one of the most racially-divided cities in America

this was almost a no-win when the Furman stuff came out

He did fine. His presentation would have convicted any person not named OJ Simpson.

Cochran just was better with a racist jury (the prosecution's only fuck up - also the gloves).

Marcia Clark and Chris Darden sucked as lawyers in that case. Even if they did a decent job, they still probably wouldn't have gotten a conviction, but they still sucked.

    Uh. Yeah it does.

I drove by san quentin a few days ago.

Fun fact, I used to live next door to the walls unit in Huntsville, TX when I was in school. Got to see a lot of executions/protests. Also met and was fondled by Kate Winslett there while shooting a movie. 10/10. Would have Kate grab my balls again. Good times.

You are both wrong and right....

At the time of the Simpson / Goldman murders, California did have a death penalty. However, currently California does not due to a judge declaring the death penalty unconstitutional, and apparently no one has challenged it. However, even if it was legal, I do not believe these murders would quality, because it appeared to be a crime of passion, which usually isn't the type of murder people are executed for.

    No. You're wrong.

California still definitely has the death penalty. There's over 700+ people currently on death row (most in the country - because it's California and hippies don't like putting people to death).

Any judge can say any stupid shit like "the death penalty is unconstitutional" but it doesn't change anything. Judge Kevin Fine - Harris County (the asshole) said the same thing in Texas; Texas didn't blink. He's in jail now, where he belongs. But that's my opinion, for personal reasons.

TLDR: California is a death penalty state and has the most people sitting on death row. They haven't executed anyone in a while but that just means they have a huge backlog.

There's this new thing called WikiPedia. It's great. Not always factual, but in this case, it is.

This is incorrect, and I quote,

"On July 16, 2014, federal judge Cormac J. Carney of the United States District Court ruled that California's death penalty system is unconstitutional because it is arbitrary and plagued with delay. The state has not executed a prisoner since 2006. The judge stated that the current system violates the Eighth Amendment's ban on cruel and unusual punishment by imposing a sentence that “no rational jury or legislature could ever impose: life in prison, with the remote possibility of death.”

However, on November 12, 2015, a panel of the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the district court's ruling in a 3-0 published decision. The three judges held that the claim was not justiciable under federal habeas corpus.[31][32]"

They have it, they just don't use it. In fact I believe there's an increasing trend of clearing the backlog by commuting death sentences. CA has so many new criminals that are waiting to go to prison that hundreds are being released every day. (felons in general, that is)
