Pretty sure BTCS isn't a word, spontaneity could be but that kind of word is way above my level

How long do you feel their concerts should be?

Cut the majority of the long, played out jams, add an additional 30 minutes (in some cases) and pull out a 30 song, Pearl Jam style set.

I've been to a ton of full album shows and the band usually sticks to their best album, but it almost always seems like a "10th anniversary tours"

they still don't play as long as PJ

Its also mostly bands that don't see nearly the same level of success they saw when that album was released.

Predictability, I don't care to see a whole album at a show but wouldn't mind (big 3) it if it was mixed up and not in order from start to finish

The problem with a whole album being played is that then fans are going to want it elsewhere and start to brag about where it will happen. SPAC frat boys will be like "bro---they're gonna play BTCS at SPAC b/c we always get the best shows"

Gorge heads will say the same thing. Where as with PJ no one is asking where this will happen again, because no one knows if it will. THAT'S being unpredictable. I love DMB, but I will always think PJ is superior live.

I've been fortunate to see several shows at both Alpine and C'ville. It's such a big difference to me with even just an extra 20 minutes or so added to the concert (and not being sure how long the main set is going to go with no curfew).

They could easily add 15-20 minutes to each set at all venues by just coming out a bit earlier.

I'm not sure I like the idea of you(rs). I agree that a few longer songs, where they take 3-4 minutes to wind down with nothing special going on, can/should be shortened to add a few more songs, but would not want DMB to just crank out a bunch of shorter songs to up the overall song total.

Id agree except all these jams don't change anymore. They're always the same.

Yeah the jams rarely change now, and some arent needed anymore Jimi would be better if it wasnt 10+ minutes long, So Damn Lucky (aka Too Damn Long) is a song I used to love, but now drags on and on. Itd be one thing if they were different at each show, but Sexy MF, and other jams are so predictable they are less enjoyable

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Jimi @ the Gorge this year was actually enjoyable since it didn't have the Sexy MF outro. So Damn Lucky will never be my cup of tea, though

I was lucky enough to be at both PJ shows where they just did No Code and Yield in their entirety. Absolutely unreal. They are the best band on the planet. Totally unpredictable and unannounced. They just went out there, and started playing the album. I'd kill for DMB to do something like this. I agree, it's much more special when it's once and a while, or at a huge event. That's what PJ did. A random tour stop (It was big one because it was a small venue, so I think Eddie realized how many diehards were there) and they just busted it out. I rank that as one of the best concerts I've ever attended. I don't think DMB would ever do it because I don't think they really care too. PJ wanted to do something special and make history for the fans (They had never played an album in it's entirety before besides maybe Ten back in the early 90's)

Recently I have seen Death Cab play Transatlanticism, Decemberists play Castaways and Cutouts and Blitzen Trapper play Neil Young's Harvest. Had a great time at all 3.

If DMB did this with one of the original 3 I would go.
