Re: Album of the Day
So for the latter parts of 2016, I feel like I listened to a lot of acclaimed albums I had never heard all the way through before from previous years, and damn I can't believe I haven't listened to some of this stuff before (or at least spent more time with it). Here are the highlights and albums I'll be coming back to for a long time:
The Shins - Port Of Morrow (really their whole discography, but this album is my favorite)
Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
Tame Impala - Currents
My Morning Jacket - At Dawn
My Morning Jacket - The Waterfall
Wilco - Being There
Passion Pit - Gossamer
Local Natives - Gorilla Manor
Phosphorescent - Muchacho
Grizzly Bear is the next band on my list to dive into.
Another thing I noticed is that the lead singer of Fleet Foxes (Robin Pecknold) has a lot of vocal similarities to Jim James. Both bands (FF and MMJ) really use the reverb-soaked style really well)
